You must enter your password and ip address correctly. Check the 'Run after finish' button in the install program. Uncheck the 'Uncheck all' and then run install again. Also make sure you are in developer mode on your playbook. You have to have the device on the same wifi network or plugged in to usb to be able to install the application.
Got it to work - you left out the part of having to install Java...
Thanks to everyone who is helping us out get people installed. Just as an FYI once installed you wont loose aMail if you turn developer mode off it is only for installation. After installation it behaves as any other app does so you can move it about etc categorize it just like you would any other.
yep got it working following insructions on the included pdf. Maybe some other developers could give us a similar sneak peak at their apps while waiting for RIM approval.
I've got a question: IF i buy this app how do I get any future updates??
Kinda like to know why RIM hasn't approved this yet...
If you purchase aMail through our system, once it is approved in app world we will refund you the payment minus charges for transfers etc. and you will be able to utilize the app world method. Beta releases of new features will be available to you outside the app world method.
pdf instructions worked for just fine. i bought it too. yay!
Thanks very much. If you have any feedback please PM me. We have a new release we are working on with loads more features but wanted to just get things rolling with this prequel release. Updates are free once you have purchased aMail.
Just notice everyone that I've just updated the DDPB Installer and it's better usability now. If you are running on Win XP please make sure not to use Classic Style. Win 7 has no problem so far.
The best way to use this program is just install one-app-at-a-time and check the "Run after finish" to see if the app has been installed and run successfully. Next version will be better
I will create a topic in this forum soon. Please try some apps first to see if it's working for you. Index of /playbook/app
I purchased aMail the first day it was offered. The app is ok but I can only get gmail and hotmail to work. I cannot configure my work email. Like two days ago I restarted my pb and now when I open aMail I get the purchase option like I never purchased it before. I tried to enter the password provided when I paid but as said in the email it only works once. Anyone else have this issue?
again an official statement is a must. amail, in contrast to BIS, uses direct imap or pop protocols to get email on the PB, which completely bypasses RIM servers. This could be a plus for many people, but might irritate RIM. By comparison, dont even try to get a third party email client approved for the iPad, apple would never allow that.
this app is tricky, and the lack of a non-bridged email client is even worst for users or RIM. But I know a non-BIS/BES client that does not truncate emails and directly deals with the user's server would be a BIG plus.
