Did the TI-83+ rom work? The emulator is expecting a rom file of a certain size and I haven't ever seen one that is the wrong size work. That's why I added the file size check.
I know some of the other emulators have had their splash screens removed because they were ghosting across other applications (mostly application that don't define their own splash screen, ie. every Android app) so if this problem persists let me know and I will remove it as well.
The TI83+ did work on the 1002 Bar file (not the other). Actually, someone posted their screenshot of that one working.
I will see what happens with the Splashscreen - it is a kind of fun one but can be disconcerting when I open another app. I'll see how it goes.

The screenshot in this thread was from me, but I was posting from a ROM that conformed to the required sizes. If your ROM works but is not of the expected size I will change the error (which causes an exit) to a warning (which simply warns the user) in the next version when the ROM is not of the size that is expected by the emulator.
Thanks for your input.
Sideloaded his app. I only pulls down the docking station then the docking station goes back up. I'm trying to get the TI-89 to load. Now maybe this is not a compatible ROM, I don't know. I placed what I thought was a ROM file, but from reading thru this thread, I'm thinking not. The file that I downloaded was TI89Titanium_OS.u. I'm thinking this is an Operating System and not a ROM. Can someone point me to a ROM?
Thanks
You are correct, .u files are operating system files not roms, the file needs to have a .ROM file extension. The TI-89 is not supported though. The first post has all of the supported calculator models in it.
I re-installed the app. Obtained a bunch of ROM files and placed them in /misc/TI/ROM, but when trying to open the app, the screen just bounces down and up once and then nothing happens.
Any ideas?
Any chance of the app supporting the TI-89? Or another app?
Did you check that the filenames/extensions were UPPERcase?
The TI-89, TI-92, voyage etc. all run on completely different hardware than the ones that this app supports so there would need to be a separate emulator for them.
This is a good place to start troubleshooting. If this doesn't work tell us the OS version and app version that you are running.
Doh, I knew there was a small fixable problem. Thanks F2, the UPPPERcase seems to have fixed it.
Now for the TI-89. I see there is an .apk for one.
I tried to get this to work with the new OS 2.1 with no avail, can we get an update to this app by chance?! I loved this for class when i forgot my calculator at home as i always seem to have my playbook with me.
All i get now, even after placing ROM inside folder is the app opening and closing very quickly, no splash screen. Thanks!!!
It's working fine for me on OS 2.1. Make sure that the ROM name is uppercase. The ROM's should have the following names (case sensitive) and sizes:
TI82.ROM - 131072 bytes
TI83.ROM - 262144 bytes
TI83P.ROM - 524288 bytes
TI85.ROM - 131072 bytes
TI86.ROM - 262144 bytes
I have the OS 2.1 on my Playbook and the app works fine. After ensuring the ROM files names were all upper case, all worked just fine. The location (/misc/TI/ROM/) and the file names.
I had the same problem as you, the app opened very quickly then nothing, just back to all of the icons.
Weird... i got it to work with the original version of the app, but as soon as i side load the newer version it keeps telling me "no roms found"
So, from reading thru the thread, there is no way to have formulas placed into the calculator, except for doing them manually.
That is correct.
Hey travisredpath,
Which version are you running for the app? Also, i found that when i went from the original version and rom loaded up but for some reason froze to do anything...to the new version 1.02, it says "no roms detected"
Any ideas?
I'm running version 1.0.2.
If the program freezes in version 1.0.0 then the problem is probably your ROM file. Check that it's the correct size (see a previous post of mine). Version 1.0.2 should still list the rom though, I'm not sure why it doesn't show up.
Installed the newest version 1.0.2: AlmostTI-pb-1_0_2_2.bar, and now I can only seem to view it in landscape. Doesn't seem to matter how I rotate the PB, it stays in one position.
Also seems to be locked up. Going to down grade to the previous version.
Anyone else having this problem?
The orientation should be locked but not to landscape. Do you have orientation lock turned on?
If it works for you in 1.0.1 or 1.0.0 but not 1.0.2 then you could try deleting the RAM file. If you have something important in the calculator just rename the file instead of deleting it in order to see if this fixes it. This will effectively reset the calculator.
I've gotten all the ROMs installed, they load up, but they then all (1) load in landscape and (2) don't respond to any of my inputs. What could I be doing wrong?
EDIT:
Your new version works great, thanks!
Oops, sorry guys. When I started doing the updates for Blackberry 10 I managed to uncheck the lock to portrait mode button. I just uploaded a new installer which fixes this.
The BB10 version: http://forums.crackberry.com/blackbe...i-bb10-769897/
Wow, looks fancy. Can't wait for BB10!
I don't get it, I am kinda a newbie but if i click on the download links, it wants to download zip files. How can i get the bar files?
The links should be for the bar files. You can now go to the sourceforge page and get the files from there if the direct links aren't working for some reason.
AlmostTI-pb on sourceforge
Hopefully the link in the first post to how to play scramble with friends will help you get the application sideloaded, post back if you need more help.
