An app suggestion since I cannot find anything to read ABC music notation text files into my PB and display them as music and/or play them. (On the PC there is ABC Navigator and ABC Explorer, etc.)

Are there any apps for that? Or maybe an Android app that could be converted to a BAR file?

This would be a killer app on Playbook for fiddlers and box players and aging dance bands...

You have the only Desktop class browser in a pocket sized device, the app you want is the Internet why not browse to Folkinfo - Abc Converter and use the website?

Thanks for posting that - it's been awhile since I used ABC, it's nice to see it supported in a new way.

Thanks for the link. I converted a tune on my desktop and used Print to Go, and the PDF went to the PB just fine. So that will work from the desktop.

But how to get an abc file onto the playbook and into the browser on the PB? I can move the file to the PB, but how do I open it and select the text to paste into the Converter?

I tried changing .abc to .txt but that failed. Changing to .doc also failed. And, of course, a pdf is useless to the converter.

Still, I can at lest get the notes as pdf onto the PB now, so thanks for the tip.

Thanks, that was the hangup--opening a dang text file. Now I can do the conversions on the fly, at least whenever I have internet connection. There is an android app called aabc which sounds like what I am looking for. Someday it may make it over...meantime, I can make the conversions as needed. Thanks again.
