Well I finally got it to work using DDPB Installer v 1.0.8.0. Installed .bar files like a charm. Not sure why BBH Tool wasnt working. DDPB Installer seems a little easier to use though.
I am having problems with BBH and DDPB. With BBH I am getting the "Selected BARS HAVE not been installed..." I've tried it on two PC's and both IP addresses.

When I open DDPB, a message pops up "not java, Close APP!!"

I am running both as Administrator on W7.

Any advice? I've rebooted all machines a couple of times...

I had that probablem with i think v.1.0.6. Find and install v. 1.0.8.0. (cant remember where i found the link, but wasnt hard). Plug in ur pb and click scan. enter your password then hit connect. ensure ur .bar files are selected and check and hit install at the bottom and enjoy your apps!

    Great tutorial

A few suggestions for those having issues:
    - make sure to extract the whole contents of the .zip and run bbhtool as administrator
    - make sure to install the java runtime environment: java.com: Java + You
    - If you are on a 32-bit system you only require the 32-bit install
    - If you are on a 64-bit system you'll need to get both
    - I personally use the wifi address and have never had issues - generally 192.x.x.x
    - Ensure the .bar is correctly signed as unsigned .bar files will not load without a debug token

    Edit

I was having issues similar to Gjoseph and GranthamJoel until I remembered that I haven't reinstalled the Java Runtime Environment since I rebuilt my computer as a Windows 7 Machine. I installed the 32- and 64-bit versions of JRE and stopped getting the message "Selected .BAR(s) have NOT been successful installed to the connected device. Please try again."

Presto, the app got installed. It seems to be working too.

I tried using these and other posted instructions several times, but couldn't get the Kindle app or others to open. The icons were there but would not open.
    Then did a security wipe.
Then I went to the Goodereader site and used their DDPB Android loader (newer 1.08 version versus 1.06 for the links above and elsewhere), and their Kindle app. It worked !

    I recommend the Goodereader site.

OK, for those of your having problems using BBHTool.

    Windows 7 by any chance?

Windows 7 x64 by any chance?

Here's something to try that worked for me. I was receiving the same "NOT installed" message as other in this thread.

First, make sure Java is installed on your machine (goto java.com and click "free java download)

    Restart your PC.

    Launch command prompt (start>accessories>command prompt)

Type "java" and click enter. Do you receive "unrecognised command"?

If not, and a java message displays - I can't help you.

However, if you receive "'java' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
    operable program or batch file."

Then you're in the same situation as me, and for some reason the java directory isn't in your system path. To fix this:

Right click on "Computer" on the desktop or start menu.

    Choose "Properties"

    Click "Advanced System Settings"

    Choose the "Advanced" tab

    Click on "Environment Variables" button

In the lower of the two boxes, scroll till you see "PATH"

    Highlight PATH and click "Edit"

    Leave "Variable Name" as Path

In the "Variable Value" field, scroll ALL THE WAY TO THE END paste in the following line (including the semi-colon at the beginning)

    ;C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin

Click "OK" on all open windows

    Reboot

    Should work now

Worked like a champ, Great tutorial! Odd thing is that after I clicked "install it" and let it do it's thing, it said that the app did not install. However, the app was on the tablet and when I open it up, it functions flawlessly!

    Thumbs up!
