should work install android sdk then do this C:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools>adb connect 169.254.0.1:5555
    connected to 169.254.0.1:5555

    C:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools>adb root
    restarting adbd as root

    C:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools>adb connect 169.254.0.1:5555

    connected to 169.254.0.1:5555

    C:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools>adb install com.netflix.medi
    aclient.1.3.apk
    2533 KB/s (7378353 bytes in 2.843s)
    pkg: /data/local/tmp/com.netflix.mediaclient.1.3.apk

for the last part do -s because their is a space limit so it will install on "sdcard"
When I follow these instructions I get the error message "the system cannot find the path specified". I'm running Windows 7, 64 bit version, so when I installed the Android SDK it installed to C:\Program Files (x86)\... I've changed the initial command prompt to cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools and it still tells me the path cannot be found. It does however find the path C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\tools, but the adb command doesn't work. I'm very new to all of this and I'm sure I'm missing something obvious. Is there anybody out there that can help me? Did I mess up when I installed the Android SDK?

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide!

has anyone updated the .bar with a real android logo instead of the ? the icon.png file is in the native folder of the sys.android.bar but this might not be doable with the signing issues.

go into My computer and check the directory structure. Or dir command from command line and see if the directories are there. Did you run Android SDK and let it update?

Well, I had to step out to do some stuff during the "howto sideload apk" hunt, but as I see they found it! My compliments to everyone who contributed to this result and it is definitely one of those moments that clearly displays the power of the crackberry nation!
    Again, thanks everyone!
(now time to sleep, it's 2:24 here now but I just HAD to read up and try it all of course )

Because Netflix is not currently working, does that mean it probably wont work with the official release?

The official app isn't even intended to sideload android applications directly in the first place.
