- I would prefer a large screen with great resolution for watching movies, a qwerty keyboard (physical). A phone that has a lot of 3rd party application options? Is Windows mobile any good? Please help me find a phone that is right for me

- Ohh I see, a lot of people tell me that, please help me into finding a good browser phone with a good video playback, and qwerty keyboard, if you could explain me what sucked about the Windows mobile I would highly appreciate it, I just want peoples opinions in different. Operating Systems...
Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com11-30-08 09:02 PMLike 0 - If I had to be totally truthful... I would say the iPhone. I hate the thing. But you can't beat its multimedia and browser capabilities.
Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com12-02-08 01:31 AMLike 0 - No! - windows mobile really sucks. Had it for 3 years before getting a bold & trust me, windows isn't even 25% the capability of blackberry (at least the bold). People talk about all the apps for windows mobile - but they only exist because the os is such a dog you can't use it without all those apps.
If all you want is music, movies and pretty tricks, iphone has it
If you need to do things with the phone - emails, texts, data input then the bold is the best meeting of all the features - iphone can't handle any meaningful data input.
Bold screen has same pixels as iphone, so you'll see just as much detail on the bold + have a hardware keyboard and less power drain.

The BlackBerry Storm also has no keyboard so rules that out as well. Next, I would say the Windows Mobile devices are pretty good for multimedia, but the rest of the device isn't as great.
Do you want it just for watching movies and listening to MP3's or do you want it for streaming media from the internet? If the first then I would suggest an iPod Touch, if the streaming from internet is important then play around with a Windows phone at a store to see how they operate for your wants/needs.01-09-09 12:45 PMLike 0 - I love my new Bold!!! But my brother is looking into the HTC line. He swears by their phones and is going to get the HTC Touch HD which has like 480 x 800 pixels, which is just amazing, plus 4G network. I played with the HTC Touch Pro before I bought my Bold and just didn't like the feel - it was bulky and heavy - so I ended up buying a Samsung Epix, which runs WinMo 6.1. It crashed after installing Spc Mobile Shell on the third day so I took it back and got the Bold, which I should've got to begin with. So many choices out there - I envy you. I wish I could go back to the "shopping" phase with all the excitement and anticipation. I'd still buy the Bold, but there are some phones I wish I looked at before hand. Good luck.01-11-09 02:19 PMLike 0
- Windows is awful, just awful, had it for 3 years and the bold outperformed it within a day or two despite my having no previous bb experience.
HTC devices suck - had 2 of them and both full of faults + winmo makes it even worse.
If you could live without hardware keyboard, iphone is probably the best.
If you need a hardware keyboard, get the bold - same resolution as iphone on physically smaller screen. Dvds look great on it - better than on my tv or pc, the screen is that good! The bold has replaced my ipod, sat nav, dvd player, watch, dictation machine, and seriously cut down the time that I spend on my pc.

stay away from windows phones untill WM 7 comes out.
the G1 is also a good phone but the iphone still has it beat01-11-09 03:01 PMLike 0 - I would prefer a large screen with great resolution for watching movies, a qwerty keyboard (physical). As for blackberry's, the Storm is your best bet for multimedia and the Bold is the best if you need a QWERTY keyboard.01-14-09 09:32 PMLike 0 - I would recommend the Nokia E71 or E63. Both have QWERTY keyboards, great browser, media player, camera & video (not too good), FM radio, Office reader & editor, push email, GPS (E71 only), and both run on fairly stable yet old Symbian OS.

Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com01-27-09 04:52 AMLike 0 - I recently got the new HTC Touch Pro and have been loving it. I was not a Win Mobile fan either but i have to admit that Win Mobile on the HTC Touch Pro works flawlessly! The web browsing capabilities on the Touch Pro literally blows Blackberry web browsing away! I have been a Blackberry user for a couple years now and I really love blackberry devices and i can't take anything away from them. But now my curve rests in my desk drawer while i enjoy the HTC Touch Pro and its awesome abilities that you can't get on a Blackberry device. Theres no lag on the touch Pro when navigating the touch screen, typing on the qwerty keyboard with blazing fast fingers or using the on-screen virtual keyboards. My curve i must admit does lag some when navigating and opening apps etc but this Touch Pro has been working flawlessly from day one. My ONLY gripe is the battery life is short because of the power it requires to operate and do all the things the phone does. But that alone is not enough to keep me from using the HTC Touch Pro or reactivating my curve which i will not be getting rid of. If you are technically challenged, unfamiliar with the windows operating system and it's basic functions and navigation, or just a simple minded person only wanting a basic simple device, then just stay with the blackberry because the Touch Pro is a feature rich phone that can more than handle you multimedia needs. Opera 9.5 web browser, internet explorer are pre installed and work wonderfully. Skyfire web browser can be downloaded and installed from the handest and it is awesome to say the least. Full flash support for all websites!!! That means any video you can see on your regular computer web browser you can see on Skyfire web browser. Example... yahoo music videos work flawlessly, youtube works flawlessly (on all web browsers listed here), all flash videos on any web page plays wonderfully! Web browsing on the HTC Touch Pro is simply awesome and actually enjoyable. And ofcourse the Touch Pro can play all your downloaded videos as well in different formats. Well that's more than a mouth full from me so there is my take on a great multimedia device. There are other options but honestly don't think you will find a better multimedia device with a physical qwerty keyboard like the HTC Touch Pro. (The keyboard is awesome with a full row of designated number keys by the way).01-27-09 05:41 PMLike 0
- I'm more and more impressed the more I read about the Nokia N-series. The OLED screen on the N85 is absolutely gorgeous, the cameras are amazing for smartphones and the S60 OS seems to be on par with the BlackBerry OS. The problem for me is that the majority of them still have T9 keypads that look difficult to use.

The browsing is nice on it, media player is a bit basic but it gets the job done being able to create different playlists. Videos come out BEAUTIFULLY on the screen. Can get lost watching episodes and stuff on it. Plus it has tons of 3rd party apps to make it even better. Size and overall appeal of it is sexy as well.03-05-09 10:03 PMLike 0
