Hey everyone! My friend gave me her e71x, i am gonna retire the bb and start using that, i know it has all the at&t junk on it and the regular e71 is better, but this ones free! Anyways i was wondering if it was mandatory to have the $30 pda plan or if i could just get the regular $15 unlimited web. Thanks!
There is another thread a few posts down debating the E71 vs BB that is darn near 100 posts long, no need to start another war here. They are both good devices with their own strengths and weaknesses. Just let it go. OP you might want to go find an E71 forum.
Its mandatory ( $30 data).. Don't belive that the E71 is better ( its not)

E71 is better than E71x.
I had an E71x for 3 weeks and took it back because it would not hold a charge long enough. I did not use it anywhere near as heavily as I use my BB now, but after 6 hrs. it started beeping and went dead.
3 guys in the AT&T store tried to set up e-mail on 3 other phones they had it the store and none worked. After spending 6 hrs. in the AT&T store, I left with my BB Bold.
Yes, I had to get the same price data plan for the E71x that I have for the BB.
I hope you have better luck with the E71x than I did.
