Maybe all the Sonim folks think they have burned their bridges with AT&T and Verizon - whom they had formerly partnered with.

TMO was the only major carrier NOT to have dealt with them.

I'm used to beating down OM but Sonim does have a Sprint relationship and this guy will be located where that relationship has their HQ presence. Maybe this is something relevant. Besides Sprint is the famous starting point for the last stands of Palm, BlackBerry Limited and BlackBerry Mobile carrier initial exclusives. LOL

Might be with the AT&T meltdown and Verizon having issues with Spectrum T Mobile was the place to land. Also T Mobiles structure is much more open than the others.

Shouldn't they consider hiring a communications team? Seems like they are following in TCL's footsteps by doing an extremely poor job communicating with their potential customers.

Who are the potential customers? At this point, this isn’t supposed to be a consumer device per all the information on the OM website and even after the Peter Franklin infomercials, there’s been nothing changed within the official corporate message from OM to reflect his comments. Officially the supposed, proposed, focused and preliminary devices were designed for Enterprise customer and consumers would be offered the overruns.

Based on statements by Peter Franklin on the CrackBerry podcast, the Berry Report podcast, and TechOdyssey, all of us are potential customers and the device is due out in the first half of 2021. If there is any different messaging, then he should re-appear on each of such programs and provide an update.

Even after all of the infomercials, the word "consumer" still doesn't appear even once on the entire OM website.

The words Business or Enterprise appear 14 times on the first 3 pages.

Better than TCL, but still not confidence inspiring.

If his statements on all three podcasts are no longer accurate, then he needs to provide an update.

Nothing has changed since the August announcement. He was speaking to his audience in his interviews. The device will certainly be made available to us, but it's not a corporate priority.

The device was designed around a very specific application for Bank of America.

Who is Peter's audience if not all interested potential BlackBerry buyers? I was in the room for Chen's chat with Brian Moynihan at the NYSE on October 23, 2019. Appreciate Moynihan's dedication to BlackBerry devices and it is nice that the new Blackberry device is, apparently, being designed for a Bank of America application. Nonetheless, what is the update? When will the device be released? Did Peter go back on the podcasts to announce that the release has been delayed? Thank you.

His audience on CrackBerry are those consumers still clinging to a pkb device. His audience on TechOdyssey is, well, no one.

He mentioned the "by end of 2021" during a November interview for an Asian news site.

Here's a PCMag article that basically sums it all up:

Unless they are using some other name, they have nothing out anywhere for certification.

The very surprising tidbit we got from this was:

"OnwardMobility also hopes to offer greater protection against data leaks and other cyber threats, which have only increased with teleworking. It will work with an external cybersecurity company, and hopes to tap demand among corporate and other clients who are keen on security."

    Speaking to the date:

"... with plans to release them in North America and Europe within this year."

By your words-don't-really-mean-what-they-say logic, that doesn't exactly mean the second half of 2021. But it's not encouraging.

Technically I would agree. But suddenly avoiding the heavily repeated line "by the end of Q2" seems rather telling.

Of course, end of Q2 means a product in stores inside of 3 months. A product that has yet to see any type of certification.
