    Submit to peer pressure? Never!

Ask yourself, does it work, having any problems, how close am I to contract end, will I have to pay retail price, only you can decide if you want to pony up the cash for a new one.

I don't keep up with the Jones'.

A phone should never be embarrassing. There are people around my age (15) who don't even have cell phones. Why does that matter about people around my age? Think how self conscious teenagers are. They care a lot about what people think and not having a cell phone definitely strikes them. I use to have a lame flip Samsung that I remember a friend making fun of once. I didn't care. I actually enjoyed using that phone anyway.

If you like it and it fits your need, who cares what someone else says? Tell them if they're so worried about it, buy you a new one.

Don't listen to your friends. I still see the 8300 series curves everywhere. I had the 8320 up until Dec 2009 and it was great for me. I'd still be using it if I wasn't introduced to a corporate plan.

The 83xx series BlackBerry was the #1 selling BlackBerry in the US for at least the first half of 2009 (and probably the rest of the year, but I couldn't find proof of that in a quick search, especially since Q4 results won't be in for awhile). It beat out the iPhone, and the other high-end BlackBerry devices.
    See the following blog posts:
BlackBerry Curve 8300 Series Chops iPhone in Q1 Sales | CrackBerry.com

With that said, how can you be embarrassed to own this model? I still remember my 8320 with fond memories, and even though I will probably never use it again, I still have it, and refer to it proudly.

A BlackBerry is a wonderful thing, no matter what model you have.

I wouldn't call it embarrassing. If you can afford a new one, get a new one. I have a co-worker who is using a blackberry that is very very old. Probably a 7xxx serise, idk. Until the day they just call it a 8xxx serise, I think you're ok.

I'm rocking the 8320 and I'm tethering but come January 5th I'll be rocking the 9700. Yeah baby! Who cares what people say. It's still a great device. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with my 8320 once my 9700 is in my hands though.

nah 8310's are still better than most pearls and arguably better than 85xx if you count the flash and better construction IMO
