Hey guys, my first post here at Crackberry.com, pretty excited, love the site. Just wanted everyone's thoughts on their favorite of the older Blackberries. Obviously, as you can tell from the title of this thread I absolutely love my Blackberry 7290.

I have previously owned a Curve 8320, Bold 9000, and Blackberry Storm. Now I loved all of those previous devices, but I found myself craving the larger size and look of the older series of Blackberries, like the 7200 and 8700 series. So I decided to go ahead and purchase a 7290 unlocked from amazon, crazy huh. But I love it and its the perfect fit for me.

So what is your favorite Blackberry, from the past as well as present. Hope to meet a lot of people and have a good time here at Crackberry.com.

Welcome to CB. I still have a 7290 and an 8700. I love the trackwheel over the trackball. If the 8700 supported epandable memory I would stop using my curve.

I don't mean to hijack but what made the 8700 your favorite over the 7290??

I think this is my third post about this since I am thinking I might regret ordering the 7290 for $29 off of ebay rather than buying a new 8700 from t-mobile.

I liked the 8700 when I used it for email at work, but now I'll just be using the 7290 for texting and phone calls...right now I'm using a samsung flip phone that is smaller than two of my fingers.

just curious why youd get a 7290. the scroll wheel alone should be a obvious no no

I am just wondering why the track wheel over the track ball? 8330 is the only BB I have ever known, so I have only known the track ball.

I love my 7290 it does exactly what it says on the tin. I did have the storm but hated it,a pain to text I prefer the qwerty keyboard of the 7290 and plus its great when you get it out and you get the odd looks

heehee, i have a 7290, that i took apart and so it doesn't work too well anymore, and a 7780, and i love them just cuz of how big they are! and the keyboard's more spaced out so it's waay easier to text on, but i'm getting a 7800c, so i'm gonna have to get used to the squished keyboard >.< ...and the trackwheels are more fun to use and easier to use than a trackball

I'm a long time Windows Mobile user, still like WinMo. However, I have an appreciation for BlackBerry as well ever since I got my 8900. I've briefly played around with an 8700 a month or two ago and loved it. I may get it as a back-up. Saw an all white one that looks great. I just ordered a 7290 yesterday, and can't wait to get it. It'll be my back up BB. Plus I don't mind having a little collection of BBs either. What apps aside from 411 run on it, Opera Mini 3.1 I assume.
