Possible for some advice please?

I have been told that the BB 7290 has the facility to auto-wipe data which is set for 30-days. I have been through the user manuals and can't find anything in security settings of the device.

I don't think so. Not unless its something that a BES admin does server side. When I get home ill pull out my trusty 7290 and comfirm for you. Will be later this evening.

Confirmed. My device has no such option. Sorry it took so long to get back to you about this. Perhaps the person that told you this got it confused with the security timeout feature. Y ou can set it for up to an hour. All this does is lock your phone and require you to enter a password to open it at the predetermined intervals you set it at.

I did check with BB website and couldn't find anything. No better way than a practical test on the phone.
