7290's and Edge
Does anyone know if the Cingular 7290's are capable of Edge speeds? My CEO just asked me to check e-bay for the cost of some 7290's and since he has EDGE on his 8700c, I was just curious about them. I don't think he's willing to spend the money on more 8700c's.
thanks

ANd can i just say i have an 8700f but my O2 Network doesnt support EDGE (as far as i know). Reggie and i had this discussion at the weekend. We were both in exactly the same location and his Orange Network was showing EDGE and mine was showing GPRS...but tbh i couldnt see a speed difference...

Nope, the 7290 doesn't support EDGE. I think the only time you might be able to see the difference is when downloading attachments or tethering.

True and false- it does not support the EDGE networks. And you CAN see the diff. Its like going from dial up to dsl. Now there are the 3g nets (8900?) that are cable speeds, but unless ur using the wap browser, be prepared for many refreshings and lost connections (the one where its just a mm away from done in requesting...) (Ps I work for cingular now the new att nd just downgraded f an 8700 to a 7290 and omg its like pulling teeth!)

8900??? Cingular/AT&T does not have any 3G BlackBerry's at the moment. Also, out of curiousity, why the downgrade?
PS - Welcome to CrackBerry.com!
