You can't stop pretending that's BlackBerry pushing these news to inflate the SP.
Over and over again, in almost any thread you touch (at least those I participated).
Please provide some kind of evidence or just stop.
But I'm sure you perfectly understood that at the first read , since it's not the first time I comment your - say - "vision". I'm just tired to repeat it again and again.

Edit: To be constructive, let's say this won't be the good timing.
There's billions of dollars in play. Anything is possible.

What if chuck norris buys blackberry ?
Chuck Norris doesn't pay for companies. Companies pay chuck Norris to be owned by him.

    It was just sitting there.

That's what John Chen was brought in to do. He has until Nov 2018 to get it done.

I don't know what's worst? The rumours or the layoff articles.

The layoff is a positive thing for the company but not the employees without a job of course. These articles paint a doom and gloom pictures of BlackBerry. They don't specify that most of these layoffs are with manufacturing. Don't forget the Passport will be the last phone made in Mexico by BlackBerry and the plant will be shut down for good. Moving forward, the Classic and Leap is now made in China by Foxconn.

I don't know. All the global layoffs sure sound like BlackBerry is preparing to be acquired.

If this were true, then Chen is doing a good job for shareholders, unlike what Elop did to Nokia, which was basically gut current revenue from Symbian hardware, switch over to an incomplete Windows Phone, and tank the stock for a Microsoft buyout.

Yes, at the time, only Windows Phone 7 had been released...

"Burning Platform" memo from Elop, February 2011.
    Windows Phone 7, October 2010.
    Windows Phone 8, June 2012.
