    A buddy of mine has the iPhone and his web browser is amazing. Is there any word on a BB with a full web browser coming out... Thunder maybe?

    <points at the Bold>

    The Bold will have an HTML browser. How good it turns out is yet to be seen, but I am sure it will be much better than the current. It may not be a Mobile Safari killer, but it will be a full browser.

    It is a full browser, and thus better than the RIM one I'd say...

    Thanks all for the info on Opera. Its awesome! Never even thought of using it till reading this thread...glad I did. This is a BIG improvement over the native browser. Took all of about 90 seconds to get it installed too. Thanks!

    I agree, I really don't get the opera mini love.

    I mean, it's a good program with some good eye candy, but for me it doesn't touch the functionality of the built in browser. And it's definitely not as fast.

    Do you care to elaborate? What functionality does the RIM browser have that Opera Mini does not?

    Opera Mini fetches all content through a proxy server for one. that is great from a speed perspective and being able to view certain pages (because the proxy server preformats it for your phone), BUT try pulling up cnn.com or m.cnn.com and see where you land

    many things that Opera Mini will allow you to do, such as online banking, are not secure end-to-end... which sucks.

    for starters...

    Your profile says you have a curve through verizon, but this is posted on Opera's website.

    Note to North-American users
    Opera Mini is available to all Sprint and Cingular customers. Availability for T-Mobile customers is dependent on the subscription plan. BREW-enabled phones, including Verizon, are currently not supported.
