    I'm still thinking MSFT.
That's possible msft is an operating system company they might love to integrate qnx and bes with their software tablets and enterprise projects.

But msft is known for buying and then integrating the acquisition RIM would either become a separate business unit or cease to exist as a brand name in and of itself. Would msft keep the blackberry name going or would they merely integrate the tech into their phones and tablets? Microsoft seems to have shifted into self banded hardware with the Xbox and surface series, how soon til there is a W8 phone branded Microsoft?

Not a very white knight. If MSFT buys RIM, BB OS 10 will be killed immediately.

Microsoft will not buy RIM. If Microsoft buys any mobile device manufacturer, it will be Nokia. Microsoft already considering buying Nokia, but it is probably waiting for the stock to get even cheaper.

You may be very well right about nokia as they are already manufacturing windows phones. They wouldn't require the retooling RIM would need to be integrated into msft.

Not to worry, my friend. I've figured it out. People who put a negative spin on the numbers are using nerdinomics, while people putting a positive spin are using geekonomics. Applying geekonomics to the latest drop, it is definitely time to buy more shares.

So, how low do you think the stock is gonna go?

There are a lot of estimations between 5$ and 7$.

It's already gone lower than my nerdinomic estimate. So at this point, the floor's the limit.

$7 is an almost sure bet, 5 seems a bit low to me. I would say high 6 or low 7 after the earnings report with a small uptick next open with value stock buyers jumping in.

Depends on the cash burn over the next 2 quarters. Patents and cash is really all that is keeping RIMM stock from being history and de-listed. Its a long way back from the pink sheets.

Vale stock investing only works when the fundamentals of the underlying company are strong and for some reason its incorrectly priced.

I do believe RIM has strong fundamentals, they just lack the execution (or did in the past) to bring them to market anywhere close to the announced time. They do deliver solid products for their particular market, it unfortunately has not been much of a consumer one. BB10 can only help RIM, and hopefully in a big way, bringing consumer attention and POSITIVE media back to the company. The stock could easily swing up from 5-7$, even to something like $15-17 would be a massive gain for any value investor looking to make a cheap/quick $

A lot of optimism today, just before the Earnings Call.

So, do you think that tomorrow the stock will be up or down?

Please disregard anything I have to say about stocks. I do not know what I am talking about. Someone please explain why, on the eve of what is sure to be a bloodbath, the stock is going up. Why? Does RIM have some secret, good news to announce?

Just read the above article. I must say, I don't get it. It sounds like people are betting that RIM is about to be broken up and sold for parts. Is that it?

What did the people gain who just ran the stock up? Why would they buy before suck an announcement? Either I'm stupid, or they are, or the world is.
