STV100-6 is in the wild. Either STV100-3/4 has TD-LTE bands (Just a guess).

Okay, so there's (hopefully no more than) 6 slider variants.

    My guess:

    North America GSM
    EMEA GSM
    Verizon
    Sprint
    TD-LTE
    ???

    Non-LTE variant?
Two NA variants, like with the Classic (AT&T vs. NA,) Z30 (US vs. Canada,) or even the Q10 (AWS vs non-AWS?)

I was hoping for the American carriers not to act like children, but alas, probably 2/3 of the entire lineup is aimed at the USA.

Why is that actually? Do other manufacturers also have to make a bunchload of models for the American market? Doesn't the iPhone have one single model that works on all 4 carriers?

Would any of the carriers be in a position to tell Apple otherwise?

Anyway, the 6s has six models, three each for the 6s and 6s Plus:

    *GSM
    *GSM + CDMA
    *GSM + CDMA + TD-LTE

BlackBerry has less pull and needs to accede to the requests of the carriers, however silly (cf. AT&T Passport).

This is going OT, but don't they have eight models or am I reading it wrong? The TD-LTE models seems to have two sub-variants each: a GSM and a CDMA.

...and even Apple has a different model for AT&T vs. others this time But to your point, it's by OEM's choice, not carrier's.

I think the only line of phones recently that has had a single model for all four main US carriers is the Nexus 6...but they have carrier-specific OS builds now (in addition to the standard, global releases.)

And they probably have to have that capability because of Project Fi.

That's true. It passed me by that they have six models, by what they said on stage. (then again they also said 'all day battery life' and showed 10 hours). Interesting to know and see though. Thanks!

    I'm pretty sure it's 3 and 3.

Ah I see where the confusion on my end lies. This link says "This model is available in both GSM and CDMA types" for the A1549...but IMHO it's misleading to classify the two types as one model, because the A1549 GSM will not work on Verizon. A same model should be something like the STL100-3, where the two types are exactly the same (at least in reality, if not also on paper.) This would be like BB saying the STA100-2 and the STA100-6 are the same model.

Maybe there's 2 versions of the Venice though, it would explain why two show up in this leaked demo video. And one distinctly looks smaller...

If I'm doing the maths correctly, I get: if it's charging with quick charge, the battery would be massive at 3950 mAh (approx.). If its not charging with quick charge, 3450 mAh (approx.). Some wild speculation/guess based on this picture posted by Bla1ze.

Hope it does have quick charge. A device with such a battery and the absence of quick charge in the market of today, will surely cause complaints from power users. Especially since the Passport already had quick charge
