No, they just introduce an NFC based payment system, and call that innovation. Oh...and btw

You see, last time I checked, people are born black, and people choose to be gay. Big difference.
Um, you have obviously drank the religious right's Kool-aid. Did you choose to be straight? I did not choose to be gay. Why on earth would I choose to be gay when it is so hated and can actually end my life or be bashed by people like you that think this way? Why would I choose to lay in bed when I was 13 years old crying to God "why did you make me this way"? Did you lay in bed at 13 and cry "God, why did you make me straight"? I didn't think so. You may have cried "Why did you make me black?", I don't know. Equally sad no matter what keeps a young kid up at night crying.

Yes I'm white, and I am not trying to discount the discrimination that is so pervasive in the black community. It is real and continues to be so and continues to make me angry and sad. But don't try and discount a gay person's discrimination with this "choice" bull. It is real and continues to be so as well. Yes it is different, but it exists. There continues to be gay bashing in the US and around the world. I recommend that you watch the HBO documentary Hunted: The War Against Gays in Russia. Exactly, facts are facts.
Does it mean your post was meaningless? because it sounded like an opinion to me.
Or should we all go with your scientific data only?
If you honestly think being gay is a choice, then try this. Be gay for a bit. See if you can do it. Try it out for a year. See if it works out for you. Then you can prove to all the gays out there that sexual orientation is a choice and they can easily change if they want to.

I guarantee you can't do it.

It works the same way for gay people. It's not a choice. It's how they are.

Hey no worries if you think I'm ignorant that's fine with me :-)

as for your question easy answer:
normal --> boy + girl or girl + boy everything else is not normal . Look at things like history, religion and logic and you'll find the same answer.
    History.... every hear of Sparta?

Religion.... Hinduism has acknowledged gays and transgendered since before the times of Christ.

Logic.... The father of modern logic, Baruch Spinoza, was probably gay.

There's no such thing as normal. Saying something is "normal" is just an excuse.

Is it ironic that homophobes are more obsessed with gay sex than most gay people? No, but every time a homophobe is presented with a gay person just going about their business day by day, that focus on the "sex" part of "homosexual" is diluted, and they may start to see gay people like they see straight people: just as people.
Out of college, I hung out in the West Village section of NYC for a while. During that time, I had a lot of gay friends, and hung out with that crowd for a while.

There's another thing homophobes fear. When I went to parties, I used to get hit on by gay guys all the time. I would just tell them I wasn't interested, and most of them would just leave me alone. Like jerky hetero guys, jerky gay guys sometimes wouldn't take no for an answer and keep pestering me. I would just tell them to back off, because I wasn't interested in them. Sometimes, it would require a bit of forcefulness of personality. This kind of thing happens to attractive women on a regular basis. It's a form of sexual harassment, and it's annoying at best, and beyond offensive at its worst.

I think when homophobes get hit on by gay guys, they overreact. They're all of sudden put in a sexually submissive situation, which they aren't used to, and they don't know what to do, and they react with confused anger. This kind of thing has lead to a lot of hate crimes against the gay community.

There's also a small segment of the homophobe community who think being gay is catchy, like the flu or something. They're afraid that if a gay is hitting on them, they might catch the gayness. It's ridiculous of course, but it's how some people think.

Finally, there's the most dangerous homophobe segment. The homophobe who fears the homosexuality in himself. These are the guys who think that if a gay guy hits on them, it'll open the flood gates and they'll become full blown gay.

One last thing... homophobic men are more turned on by gay porn than any other group...... I wonder why?

And for your info, I can distinguish the difference!
Being gay isn't a preference. Preference implies choice.

I think that it’s good that he did it. It takes a lot of courage for a person in his position, especially in a country where there are, if I understood correctly, ample measures still in place that discriminate non-heterosexual people. He is also a very private person, which makes his public announcement all the more impressive to me. Not every gay person feels comfortable enough to make such a statement, fearing that at least one person could react negatively towards them as a result (whether you care about that varies from person to person too).

Although I am happy with the fact that it’s now possible for people to publicly identify with themselves with their homosexuality, we are still far from there. I currently live in a country that is typically regarded as very open-minded about gay people: the Netherlands. Yet also here there isn’t complete acceptance yet. People generally don’t mind whether other people are gay, we’ve long since passed that point in most developed nations, but the overall attitude still seems to be ‘it’s fine, I don’t care, but just don’t mention it’. Acceptance and equal rights isn’t the ultimate aim for me, I like to see a society where sexual preference genuinely doesn’t matter and isn’t step swept under the rug anymore.

This thread though posted with good intent would end up stoking the fire more. Nobody should be discriminated against based on race, religion, sex, sexual orientation regardless on whether we agree with it or don't find it acceptable.
People should accept who or what they are, and quit trying to prove or make excuses for what might be beyond their controls.
Humanity will continue to struggle with these issues, long after we (all of us on this thread) are all gone!

If I was a share holder I would be annoyed that this made news. This is strictly a money issue mind you, Apple will now have this background noise that will disrupt business in yet another way.

People fortunately (as well as unfortunately) all have their own opinion on race, creed, and preference, as a business you can't get involved, if you do, you have a chance at alienating customers (look at some of the ridiculous things some of the clothing vendors have done). And because people are capable of great as well as terrible things you have to keep things to yourself (and your target marketing as broad and uncommitted as possible). Unfortunately I think Tim was specifically targeted, which I think is a disservice to him as well as Apple.

People in glasshouses shouldn't throw rocks and I bet there will be plenty of rock throwing.
