I talked to a Sprint Rep earlier today, this is what I was told.

All existing customers with smart phones will be grandfathered in. As long as they stick with the same type smart phone when they upgrade. ( if you have a blackberry and upgrade to a new blackberry) you will not incur the 10.00 fee.

if however you have a blackberry and upgrade to an android or Windows mobile phone you will incur the fee. and vice versa.
TBQH, I would take their word with a grain of salt.

That's not a smart move for Sprint. That's a good way to repulse potentially new customers. OMG, what were they thinking about when they came up with this idea?

In a world where things usually get cheaper as time goes by, Cellular phone plans break free of the norm.

If you think that this is bad, wait until people start paying for LTE with Verizon and AT&T. This is a mild charge compared to the rate hikes that the Big Two have in store.
