Has anyone heard that SPRINT had to pull their curves due to legal reasons?
I heard other carriers were suing RIM because of exclusive rights to colors.

No, the pulled them to update the OSs on them, so that new owners wouldn't be hampered by having to upgrade right outa the box. When they only carry 2 colors of 8330, and just about everyone has those 2 colors, would be awfully hard to say anyone had exclusivity on colors.

    Yeah ... what BK said.

There are multiple threads on this (i.e., the Curve delay) down in the Sprint sub-forum.

Sprint did the exact thing with the Moto Q9 when Windows 6.1 came out. They pulled all the stock to upgrade them and then re-released the phone.

I wonder if Sprint and Verizon are affected the same way USCC was. USCC ran out of ESN numbers and had to have phone upgraded to MEID (I think those are the right initials) numbers. They now offer the 8330m instead.

Any word when Sprint will have them back out? I bought one 2-3 weeks ago and need to swap it.

The only date that someone in another thread mentioned was by this Friday (the 20th); but YMMV....

A lot of people throughout the forums have stated that although the phone has been pulled from the site, many of the stores still have them in stock.

    Have you taken yours in?

Qualcomm won that case. So there is no telling what sprint is doing. But hey my wife and I just got our curves in dec. I hear that they are gonna try and pull out 2 devices at one shot. Palm and a berry!

No the arnt pulling the curve as of yet... I got mine instore on the 12th (a day after the pull from the site) and lastnight I picked up another for my sister (she saw mine and had to have one right away lol). Also I spoke to the store rep and she said the samething that has been said here... "We are just updating the sku's and the OS... It should appear back on the site soon."
