How about some vote of confidence to go with that?

The question is how is BlackBerry 10 doing in Africa? Are those numbers based mainly on an antiquated OS?

If you read the report it's mainly about cheap BIS being the reason for success - so yes, BBOS is the key there.

Yes, it's just an astonishingly poor article all around. It would seem Fung either knows little, has trouble interpreting, or is choosing to mislead people when he says things like "that its renewed focus on developing economies offer a great deal of potential growth".

Obviously, even if indeed BB's new focus is on legacy BBos in developing countries (News to me, and NOT a good way to go), that's a rapidly losing market, as there is no reason to suspect that legacy BB won't follow exactly the same ate as it has in every other part of the world (note also that though Fung references Brazil, he doesn't acknowledge the pronounced decline already happening there). There is no potential in those countries for BB, only the continued erosion of their legacy market - that premise is of course, laughable. Nor are the profits made in Africa or other developing countries enough to prevent what has happened.

I don't wish to be harsh but Mr. Fung is a dullard.

We can proclaim manufactured and increasingly asinine victories all day long but it only makes us look like fools ourselves. Very desperate fools.

Shouldn't Canada step it up? After all its a Canadian company and sales don't appear to be so swell there either.

Good news in general. Just wait till BB10 hits on full force. Android and iOS just seem dull these days.

Great news, Great find. I've come to the conclusion that I will be using TWO Smartphones from now on.....always a BlackBerry Smartphone of some sort for "serious stuff"and another Smartphone (insert brand) for "messing around"......thats just the way it is.....Just sayin.

Stop raining on the parade with your negativity (i.e., rational comments). Sounds like BBRY has found their prosumer market in Africa.

Prosumers are not those using a BlackBerry Curve on BIS.

So the question becomes is how long doe BBOS remain the star for BlackBerry?

Do they kill it? Or do they embrace it and release BBOS8?

To be honest, instead of licensing BB10, maybe they should licensing BBOS.
