Just heard in news this morning that Rogers Communication will stop carrying Blackberry devices in its stores. I am not sure if it's only for the BB10 devices. It seems to be be similar to Tmobile in the states. It's really strange because Rogers was always the first to support Blackberry. I guess, you always find who are your true friends when things go really bad.

Who'd you hear that from? Any chance the same source told you it is because TELUS is planning to make a bid on BlackBerry? Just curious.

Rogers won’t stock latest BlackBerry device | Toronto Star

Confirmed, Toronto Star. Z10 will not be stocked by Rogers, although Bell & Telus will carry it. Also available at Best Buy and Future Shop.

Wow. I just posted this elsewhere this morning:

Could Rogers be boycotting because TELUS, with a market cap five times the size of BlackBerry (and even larger on an enterprise value basis), is preparing a bid?

Very unlikely but it is a very complimentary fit for an innovative company like TELUS as it continues to expand beyond land lines, cellular, TV and internet. TELUS recently become Canada's largest electronic medical record provider through TELUS Health (where security of information is paramount), has a position in security solutions ("Whether your priority is handling targeted threats with real-time context, securing your mobile enterprise or removing your security management challenge, TELUS Security Solutions can help you gain visibility, understanding and control."), and has a Mobile Application Management product in partnership with an external vendor... amongst other things that align with BlackBerry's strengths. An acquisition of BlackBerry would strengthen existing segments for TELUS, reduce existing costs, and open new opportunities. Furthermore, TELUS this year made an acquisition (Mobilicity) valued at over $1,500 per customer. Multiply that by 50+ million and BlackBerry looks like it would not only be a great fit for TELUS but at a great price.

Purely speculation on my part, of course.

You know the end is coming soon when even a Canadian company has no interest in carrying Blackberry hardware.

But it just mentioned Z30. If it's all BlackBerry models then yes, they're boycotting.

So BlackBerry, ready to complain about carrier support yet?

Frank Boulben is one good looking guy but me thinks the marketing and advertising in BlackBerry is abysmal.

If this means direct buying from BB opens up in Canada I would be happy.

I am currently with Rogers and have not been happy with them for sometime. Once my contract is up i will be moving on, this has nothing to do with this decision but more to do with other issues.

What's the use of carrying the old ones if you're not going to carry the newest one? That means your best Blackberry customers hear about the new one and go to your store and find out they can't upgrade. If they're not carrying the Z30 then they are probably going to wind down all of the Blackberry products.

How are there people still sugar coating this issue?

Im pretty sure execs and internal 100 Business analysts of major carriers that get the big bucks know more inside info on BB and their status, than BB fans on crackberry.

How much more in the face bad news do most people on-here need, in order to realize that things are not working out.
