Wow. That is pricey. But there are Z10s being sold worldwide at much greater discounts all the time. I hope that store gets with the trend and puts a hefty discount on that price or they will never move inventory. 250 to 300 Euro would be a better deal.

I took this picture in Belgium. Even online they ask 499 euro! It's too crazy!

Look for it online and you'll find them MUCH cheaper. And media Markt is notorious for having wide price ranges - depending on the city or region you live in.

Like everyone else has said, online prices are much better. Expansys.com for example has it for 225.

"Meeneemprijs", at least you can take it with you for 350.

Oh and the prices are probably like this because they don't have a large inventory and the product is hardly moving. Media Markt, doesn't notice these items.

    Have a nice day

I would have loved to see Crackberry interviewer asking Mr. Chen about prices' strategy.
I've already seen those aberrations and can't understand why Blackberry doesn't sell itself online with points of reference like Canada for North America, Ireland for Europe and Hong Kong for eastern market.
I would never buy a Q10 at 599 euro (814$!!!) when i can easily find one on ebay or amazon for 430 euro.
The worst in this situation being that i'm sure with a correct advertising and promoting of BB10 and a direct sale via internet and pertinent pricing in physical stores, BB10 devices would sell in very decent numbers.
I know for sure a bunch of friends that would give a try to BB10 now that Android apps will be so easy to run. (asset that Blackberry should advertise massively).
If Blackberry were to propose discounts like the last one about 199$ Z10 their stocks would clear fast at 139euro!!!

I wouldn't buy from a place that can't even spell "Market" right.

but online (e.g.amazon) it is very cheap.

I dont know your Media Markt , but in Switzerland and Germany the prices are perhaps 20% higher than online.

Even the provider selling the devices cheaper than your price on the photo. (e.g. Swisscom)

Thats not the reason for low sell-through.
. The reason is no marketing and no Knowledge of the staff in the shops. Nothing more. The usual problems.

Here in Belgium we have 3 gsm operators: Proximus, Mobistar and Base.
Today I was in these 3 shops:

The smallest operator Base has the Z10's on stock, no other Blackberry devices.

Mobistar shop: Only 1 Q10 device was available in a little corner where no one came. The ?pro? corner for a little 649?.

Proximus the biggest player in Belgium has 1 Q5 displayed in their shop.

What do you want? If Blackberry thinks that the devices will sell by itself, they are wrong.

at least you can get the devices there! in Germany you'll only find Blackberries in few carrier shops in the back, dark corner. I've never seen a OS10 BlackBerry in wild here.
