It is a bit thin on details though. Is this a core Android OS vulnerability or only an HTC vulnerability. They mention HTC specifically, but they also say "most probably other HTC devices"

Detect the rooting of employees’ devices. As mentioned, Lacoon Mobile Fortress detects devices that have been rooted. As mentioned in the response regarding the consequences of an attack, MDMs, Secure Containers and hardened apps cannot detect the rooting of the device.

Every Android phone in existence has a way to obtain root otherwise one could never install a custom rom on it or use apps that need root like Titanium Backup. Is it a security bypass? Sure just like any jailbreak method for IOS devices. Not concerned about it other than that security company is using a root method to shill to sell its services. Here's the thread in XDA that shows you how to root the M8.

Main thing I got was not to download and install an APK that could have been repackaged. Say from some 2nd or 3rd party App Store or one that is being circulated via a forum.

Employees should be instructed to install applications only from reputable sources (trusted and established developers and only from the official Google Play store).
Very good advice for anyone installing apps!
