Bla1ze mentioned here that rim was testing 2.1.0.1114 so if we're getting an update it's likely to be that one or slightly higher build http://forums.crackberry.com/blackbe...update-750329/
Yup I remember that. But RIM already released that update ,only it was 1088 from 1032 instead of 1114 from 1032.

That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind. I think a primitive warp drive engine would be more likely.

Could go as high as 2.1.0.1172 - http://forums.crackberry.com/blackbe...0242-a-752467/

BB is still adding the finishing touches to BB10. I would be surprised to see BB10 before January. BB has decided that they only have one change to make this right and they are go to make sure that it program tight before release.

Not even a beta? Like on the dev alpha?
The beta BB10 was possible because of the limited amount of devices able to run it (dev alpha).
Now, if you spread an unpolished OS to the 2 million current PB users (even warning them with a "this is a developer beta") all you'll probably gain is pain and support struggle.

    What no confidence in BB10?
If it will truly save RIM why be afraid to put it out there.
Imagine if it's as good as we hope it will be.
After all if the carries are testing it the software should be close to ready. If we all ready have the hardware (the Playbook ) available let's go!
BB10 for PB is far from finished. PB OS and "phones" OS are different, even if based on the same core OS.
PB BB10 Beta OS will be limited to developers (hopefully with a little more control than previous beta versions).

Wouldn't that be after the H-series, or maybe the S-series, smartphones if howarmat is right about heII?
It will likely be after the N series in all honesty. Prior to BBWC but after March.

I was at the enterprise forum a couple of weeks back and after the show i asked about the differences with bb10 on the playbook.. He didn't get into specifics but said that BB10 wouldn't be released on the playbook for a few months after the first phones launced.

None. It states it is for bug fixes.

Sent from my BlackBerry 9900 using Crackberry App!
Yup, and it fixed my bug that ate all free memory when bridge BBM is running in the background.

Why not? What are the chances of both being released on the same day?
All their focus will be on getting new bb10 hardware into the market as that is what is needed if they are to save the company, so at this point their priorities will be L-series, N-series and then some more L-series for good measure and they have probably almost nothing with bb10 for the playbook at this point because it is simply not important even though it will be nice for us to have it eventually.

The reason for my hopeful optimism is this Tweet from @BlackBerryDev:

    https://twitter.com/BlackBerryDev/st...90288896561153

"@adamschuetze #BB10 builds for PlayBook will be available in developer beta ahead of launch, but this beta is still a little ways away ^BZ"

Ahead of launch of BB10 handsets, or ahead of launch of BB10 for PB? Either way, when I saw the Bridge update, I got excited.

Just like sleepngbear and others have said, the update to the bridge app was just to fix bugs, one in particular was the bridge texting issue. Now if there is a update to the Playbook to be released, I would hope it's to fix this Dang-ON camera issue!! I called tech support and I have to send it in for repair or replacement. They still don't have a fix for it.

What are the chances? BB10 is coming for the PlayBook, that we know. But when? Will they release a beta early?
    lolz.

    If only.

I can't imagine that it would be an open beta either, I would think that it would be through Beta Zone only. Also, I have never seen a BlackBerry OS released as a Beta either.

So you think they will wait till BB10 release before working on the PlayBook release. Not a chance. I would bet that they have a team working on that now.

I agree you on almost all that you say,
Releasing Playbook with OS2.0 would have definitely been a better idea than releasing it too early.
M glad with the approach RIM is taking with the New Platform launch, keep it under wraps and have a Big Bang Launch! With pre order dates.

    I'm content with 2.1.

If I choose not to get the first BB10 phone I'll bury my head in the sand until the BB10 qwerty becomes available. All in the name of anticipation of course.
