    Market share of what?

New devices shipped in the time period? Or devices in use in the market in the time period?

    #petpeeve

The trends aren't good either way but marketshare can be measured multiple ways ...

    Interesting IOS flopping around.

To Chen, these numbers are great news! He can only go up! It cannot go down any more.

Soon he will be a hero!

Chen's not chasing numbers, he's chasing a small niche. Soon blackberry won't even appear in the stats.

47% of ALL phones sold in 2013 were sub $200 devices.

I think a $200 Foxconn made bb10 phone will do just fine.

    $600 q10, z10, z30 in Brazil..not so much.

Those $600 BB phones aren't selling anywhere let alone Brazil. The question is, why would a person in Brazil buy this over a Moto G?

You must really like the Moto G since you keep bringing it up in other threads as well

I don't like the Moto G and I find Motorola a horrible company; but, I still think that BBRY would be crazy if it thinks it can price the Jakarta at 199 USD in a price sensitive market like Indonesia.

Still, I believe critics are too quick to cast stones. Chen said something along the lines of 'sub 200 USD' and, while it likely could mean 199 USD, maybe Blackberry could pleasantly surprise us? Or maybe BBRY was being conservative with its price estimates like companies usually are about press releases?

It is market share. Market share is about sales. User base is not market share.

I do, it's great phone at an amazing price and is the gold standard at which emerging market phones should be compared to. Have you ever used one? For $179, it's got a great screen, runs smoothly, has really good battery life and is the phone to beat.

If someone is considering a Jakarta, they would most likely also consider the Moto G, what phone should we comparing it to in your expert opinion?

An alternate question would be - why are you here if you hate BlackBerry so much? I think you might be more at home over here ...

I agree with everything you say, except the Jakarta price point. Anything over $150, and I believe it'll be DOA.

With 10.2.1, the OS is (finally) on a par, but it still has no ecosystem. Never mind the MotoG's of this world, it's all the perfectly respectable Android phones at 150$ and below that are Jakarta's real opposition.

Maybe you need to ask why CB produced an Android app?

I am a technology fan and have multiple apps from Mobile Nation installed on my devices. I also come here to read the numerous opinions on here which contain a lot of FUD on the Android related topics, they are quite comical and disturbing at the same time lol. I also find a lot on here have their heads stuck in the sand when it comes to BB and think they need some outside perspective.

At any rate, you keep doing your thing and I will keep enjoying the numerous train wrecks on here, cheers.

Are you dream building? You should go and get a MOTO G or whatever. Make yourself happy and forget that BlackBerry even exists.
