    Hype. You will still need to run cable to your light bulbs. You also will still have the speed of whatever your ISP gives you to the Internet.

    Wifi standards had improved drastically and can now do Gb/s speeds. Not sure if a new protocole is necessary for now

    not only is line of sight no practical, I use incandescent bulbs and avoid flickering leds like the plague.

    That's terrible. I love incandescent, but there will always be loopholes. Can't really ban oven bulbs for example.

    incandescents are the only attractive artificial light source besides sodium vapor streetlamps (which are also on the way out). it's a shame that our future is so ugly.
