An old high school friend is highly placed within the bureaucracy of the Ontario gov't. A good excuse to send an email and catch up methinks. I know the last time I saw him a year or so back he was rocking a BlackBerry so maybe he has some insight... Will report back if I hear anything.

it's Ontario. I have some family members who work for the government and have been running the pilot project. The other knife, though, is apparently the government is going to let any phone be used, and I'm not sure if it's going to be with BES 10 or not.

They are not BYOD...iPhone 4s is the only other smartphone currently available and government issued... under special circumstances. BB10 will prevail. They are allowing Z30s...compare it to an iPhone 4s.

But isn't the iPhone 4s the same as the iPhone 5, which in turn is the same as the iPhone 5s?

Just looked...they do allow iPhone 5 through some carriers but they require CIO approval. BlackBerrys do not require this level of approval.

It'll likely be a central Canadian province like Ontario or Quebec. The province or provinces closest to the government usually reap the most benefit from same and in this case also likely influenced by DOD practices.

BC is more likely to be influenced by the hipster movement. Ergo Iphones..lol
In Canada, it's DND for Department of National Defence vs the United States' Department of Defense.
