The DJ on 96.7 was reading an article on the air about BlackBerry and mentioned that the company was not doing well. He failed to mention that the company is making plenty of revenue on software and only mentioned the Priv as a new smartphone.

He attributes BlackBerry's decline to android; also alluded to Lime and Digicell no longer supporting. I don't believe a word he said.

Interestingly the Lime site still lists many MANY Blackberrys...

Digicell on the other hand does not show any, BUT I would imagine you can still bring your own BB10 or Priv, but I don't know. But certainly Lime is still a BB supporter!

    1. FLOW(formally LIME) and Digicel have not actively promoted Blackberry phones since 2013 when BB10 was launched.
FLOW is showcasing Z10, Q5 but no Z30,Passport,Classic or PRIV.
      Digicel zero
    2. Many persons only see blackberry as a Hardware company
    3. Many persons do not know about the PRIV plus it is too expensive for the Jamaican Market.
    4. I agree with him. The cheaper Android devices rule in Jamaica now. Whatsapp has killed SMS messaging and BBM dominance and the telecoms are driving data plans. The phones are from Huawai, ZTE, BLU, Alcatel, HTC

I agree that "most" people see BlackBerry as hardware only and assume you have to migrate to another phone so your BlackBerry doesn't stop working.
