    Im not certain but isnt Apple trying to enter into this market. If its not them its someone trying to knock QNX down. But from what ive been reading. Isnt a external device thats plugged into the cars system the thing thats compromising it and not QNX directly.

    Yep. Nothing to do with On Star or QNX

    QNX is cars is running at a very low level: it's a kernel and does kernel things like resource allocation and management. Every user facing interface is software built by the OEM or a vendor and this is where the issues come from: badly written software. If the developers actually built a decent piece of code and didn't try to just build in features for no good reason most of these issues would vanish.
