Top seller in this case refers to the handsets that are highly regarded and regularly sells over 10s of millions.

    The Z3 is a flagship?

Wasn't the Q10, you know the first BB10 with a qwerty keyboard, released April-ish of 2013? And wasn't the Q5, you know the second BB10 with a qwerty keyboard, released fall of 2013? Maybe they should have rephrased that line to incorporate the toolbelt, you know something that the Q20 is actually bringing "back" to their qwerty phones.

Hope this helps to somewhat explain what the OP is so upset about. Nothing major, just inaccuracies in their reporting and those in turn being interpreted incorrectly.

    Reading comprehension fail OP.

The author is saying the Q20 isn't a "top seller" type of device. You know, like how everyone knows that the next iPhone or next Samsung Galaxy whatever will sell very will.

I personally agree with what he is saying. There is interest surrounding those devices and that has brought more happy time feelings to BlackBerry fans, but neither will be considered top sellers.

Some people around here are so defensive, even when there is no reason to be.

They all get it wrong. I don't know whether it's because they are just plain stupid or weather they are being intentionally miss leading. When I was watching BNN they said that just about all of the phones they sold in the last quarter where either older legacy devices or Z3s. And of course they have to bring on a couple of guests to bad mouth BlackBerry just in case someone was actually being engaged by the real news.

Can anyone here see the Z3 as a flagship? Stating this is what made the OP mad.

what I meant is they say they've made the Z3 and the Q20.. "while both can't be considered a top seller" to my understanding should mean the device went into the market and didn't top the charts... "there WAS a fair amount of interest" also means that both went their rounds in the market to my understanding.. I may not be majoring in English but what I understood is probably what many other -non native English speakers- understood as well.. it could have been put in many different ways to avoid confusion if that's the case..

It says the company is worth 3.1 million... that would ignore the entire company except for the cash on hand. That isn't wrong?

Most investor values the rapidly declining hardware business as a burden, ie negative value, but the patents is an asset and pretty much offset the negative value of having the hardware handset business. QNX revenue/profit is too small to impact the bigger BBRY valuation here.

"Most investors " = the "market"... and the market value of BlackBerry is far greater than 3.1 billion. The article is dead wrong.

Agree, this is more typically how a publicly traded company's value is depicted.

I also read in one of the stock analyst reports with the title don't pick BlackBerry, it made it sound like the Z3s launch in Indonesia was a flop since it didn't seem to have much of an impact on the sales earnings. I mean really? These people are supposed to be professional analysts, he had to know that they wouldn't have been included in this report.

I agree it could have been worded slightly different. Such as "While neither device can be expected to be a top seller (in comparison to other platforms), it appears that there is a fair amount of interest in these devices..."

Some slightly sloppy writing doesn't mean they have their head up their ***, though. The message is still the same, and it's fairly optimistic compared to things we've heard in the recent past.
