I travel more than I care for now. But that's not the problem. The problem is that there are only a few million of them out there. Heck. I've even gone into some carrier stores specifically to play with a passport and a classic. No one is even carrying them.

Thank you. This is the market with the greatest concentration of BlackBerry on the planet. It's no wonder he's selling out of small quantities like that.
Do you see 5 BB10 devices a day? If not then I probably live in the country with the most concentration of BB10 on planet.

Quite a few of our friends on Crackberry also seem to have graduated to the Classic including yours truly. There is no doubt that the Classic seems to have done well.

MOD: I request shutting down this thread. It looks like it will likely turn into a BlackBerry hate-fest.

Pay no heed, I think it should go without saying that those folks that have reduced their lives to spending as much time as they do in here being only negative towards BlackBerry and trying to bait other members have no friends.

I am surprise that the Z10 is the most popular phone? I have seen more Q10 and even Classic than Z10. If the touch screen was that popular I would have thought BlackBerry would have rolled out another high end version to replace the Z30?

As far as I know, it is the most sold device on BB10, I think didn't like the sales because they made 10 billion units and were expecting to sold them all, they were disappointed when they didn't .

Those "old" devices are known worldwide. This while passport and classic even are not available worldwide...

Takes some time for those devices to take over the stats...

Because making a blanket statement like "None of my friends have ever seen a BlackBerry in the wild " is a pretty ignorant thing to say. I mean really, how would he know if his friends have seen a BlackBerry or not, has he handed out a questionnaire to all his friends? Would his friends even know if they've seen seen a BlackBerry in the wild? I have a Z10 that I keep in a leather flip wallet case, how would anyone know what type of phone I'm using? The only reason to post that statement is to spread FUD, which he dose at every opportunity.

It's perhaps a little like if your favorite team comes off a losing streak and you post a thread called "we finally won a game ".

And someone posts "Yes. But more importantly, you lost the game before it, and the game before that, and the game before that...".

We're all aware of BlackBerry's predicament, but we were here to discuss a (possible) tiny "win". This guy's comment came off as trying to diminish it just for the sake of diminishing it (though I have no idea if this was his actual intent -- from his subsequent posts, it does not appear that it was IMO), without adding anything of relevance to the discussion, or any information that everybody here wasn't already aware of.

It's like "We get it... bb's are not popular phones right now. We really really get it". No one here is putting up "mission accomplished" banners lol.

    My 2 cents

    ^^ This.

I've had my Z10 for over 2 years and last month a young guy in my office asked me when I got a BlackBerry. He thought I had an android all this time because he didn't know BlackBerry made touchscreens.

Like many of us here on the forums, I always keep an eye out for other BB10 devices. So far, the results have been grim. To date, I havent seen any Classics. Not one.

One of my friends has a Q10 and recently got a Passport, but I havent visited him since he got the Passport. I love smartphones, so I talk with people about their phones all the time, and my friends and family come to me with questions all the time. If someone in my social circle got a BlackBerry, Im sure Id know about it right away.

So its not that Im not recognizing BB10 devices--I have a Z10 and a Z30, and I know them like the back of my hand! Honestly, Ive only seen one other BB10 device in the wild and that was a Q10 of a guy I met at a social event whose girlfriend had a Bold. I whipped out my Z30 and the three of us started talking BlackBerry.

Incredibly, the girlfriend of the Q10 owner didnt even know that the Z30 existed! She was impressed with mine, but it goes to show you that many BBOS users are still in the dark when it comes to BlackBerry's current offerings. The Q10 owner was not an enthusiast, and he hadnt even upgraded his phone with the 10.2.1 OTA at the time! I showed him 10.3 on my phone and how to upgrade OTA, but it reminded me that we have to remember that many people just dont know this stuff. In fact, most people will be grateful for good smartphone help, but if their current setup is meeting their needs, then they tend to be complacent.

But the issue is that this isn't actually a confirmed "win" and rumors similar to this have been perpetuated for each and every BBRY device in the past and proven to be false. If your "win" is based off an anecdote, I don't see why anyone else's anecdote is any less relevant.

Anyway, back in reality, the only clue we really have whether the Classic is selling well is BBRY's overall shipment numbers. Given the number is still dropping, the Classic is likely selling relatively worse than popular past BB10 models such as the Z10.

The difference is that the anecdote of this thread is new information that people were not aware of. What is the point in rehashing the fact that BlackBerry's are rare in the wild?

Just because you have an anecdote, doesn't make it worthwhile to share in any thread of any topic, especially when it's one we've all heard and personally experienced like a BILLION times before. You're free to do so of course, but myself and many others find it just so tiresome to deal with (specifically when it's done in the way it was in the particular post we're referring to). Again. We already know BlackBerry's are rare in the wild. Honestly.

FYI: There is a recent and active thread in progress right now dedicated to discussing how rare they are to see. It's full of anecdotes relevant to the topic of that thread.

You might have a point if this thread was not based on anecdotal evidence from Toronto, the home of Enterprise BlackBerry.
