If you have the available cash, get it! You can keep the Bold as a spare. Or sell it.
Get the device that makes you happy.
As much as I loved my Torch, I found the keyboard cramped after I used it for a couple of days recently. Hard to give up that Bold keyboard. But you might find that it's not an issue for you.

Better half loves her 9810. I found it to be a great device in many ways - 99 keyboard is no match of course.

In case you prefer larger screen, but keyboard size not that critical to you just go for it

I went from the 9800 to the 9900. The 9800 was a brute like my old 9000. Indestructible. The screen and form factor were fine, but the thing was a dog. Browser was truly anemic. My 9800 is now a paperweight. If the 9810 is as good as the 9900 performance wise, why not?

I went from a 9800 to a 9810 originally and I loved the 9810. The 9810 is what the 9800 should have been! I have the 9900 as well and as far as I can tell, the 9810 is as fast and as slick as the 9900. Plus I like the camera and battery life on the 9810 better than the 9900. You would be giving up the keyboard and NFC on the 9900 , but that may not be a problem for you.

Overall I really liked the 9810 and I'm sure you would too if you liked the 9800. See if u can find someone to let you try one out. I think the 9810 is a great device and the battery was quite good too.

Forgot about that. You get a real camera with the 9810 in exchange for NFC. I suspect 99% of consumers would, today, make that trade without hesitation.

I have both 9810 and 9900 and I tell you one week I like the 9810
    another the 9900.
Its hard they both have their pros an cons
my white 9900 is a sexier looking phone
it's lighter and smaller than the 9810
    the screen resolution is better
and the keyboard is perfect and the overall
built of the phone is more sturdy
Now the 9810 has a bigger screen that can
tilt which is great for watching movies
    and browsing the web.
The battery on the latest update is amazing
and the camera is the best BlackBerry has to offer.
I still can't decide, but I say go for the 9810.

I have the 9900 and 9810, and really like both of them. The 9810 is definitely a more full touchscreen experience, and the battery life is really good (I'm on OS 7.1.0.428). The camera takes pretty good pictures, noticeably better than Bold. I really have no complaints about the Torch, it is just as good as the Bold, just know a different package.

well i still use a 9800 and i am about to go crazy hanging on for bb10 which I am not even sure is the right thing to do now with all the latest news floating around. In my present mindset i would probably would trade the 9900 for a iPhone. at least the browser would work and you could see something on the screen

    +1

I did the exact same thing. 9800-9810, and now 9900. Each phone has a different plus but I am starting to wish I kept the 9810.

The 9900's keyboard rocks, but in the end it's a half-screen device with a crummy camera.

    Its Been a Week !
And I am so soo soooo happy that I finally made the trade , I feel alive once again with that screen and Slide
I think everyone who cares for a better phone should consider getting a torch 9810 instead of the 9900 , as its just for texting , not a full package phone ..
Thanks all for ur advices , u really helped me decide =D

i had 9800 in the past so going for the same form factor does not interest me - so i got a 9900 instead. 9810 got bigger screen, but then you got to slide up to type, and thickness and weight is just plain wrong against 9900's width and lightness.
had a look at 9981 yesterday, almost buy one, but the call and end button is exposed to the side (while 9900 got a steel band around it) so no 9981 for me.

    thats my opinion
