Where is the filthy screen though?

One difference between the original and others so far is no one has duplicated the greasy screen and there is no black border on the app store. Every pic since has one no matter how small.

It's only an app, wouldn't necessarily be that hard to sideload if you knew how to do it. Doesn't make it work or do anything though.
You can't sideload Google Play. The OS rejects it, no way around that.

That doesn't mean the screenshots weren't fabricated. I'm remaining agnostic with a touch of optimism.

Found this piece written by James Nieves over at Berryflow. Interesting even if it's still rumored but I say bring ittt!

Google and BlackBerry has recently entered an agreement to bypass the Open Alliance relationship so that BlackBerry can deploy Google Play onto BlackBerry 10 as well as enable the currently disabled Google Services Framework (GSF) embedded into the runtime. Meaning not only in the future will users be able to download apps directly from Google Play on device, every single native functionality will be available for use. In plain English, every single Android application will work without the need to sideload, without the need for a debug token or any form of method to enable functionality to work. But you?ll need to be on a 10.2.1 build or higher?
I find this claim the most interesting. Google has prevented others from doing exactly what is being proposed here for BB10:
Alibaba: Google just plain wrong about our OS | Mobile - CNET News

If this really happens I'd expect that Google would likely execute a similar strategy on other fledging OSes (Tizen anyone?). I would expect the OHA to have a big problem with this as well. Google has to play by the rules as well as enforcing them, or watch Android fall apart to a number of forks.

I like the way you put it: "Agnostic with a touch of optimism".

And is it just me, or is CrackBerry really slow today? It's slow both on CB10 and the website (on my PC).

Am I the only one more than a little grossed out by how filthy that screen is...?
I think the grossness of the screen helps show if it is real or fake. If the smudges carry over the Play Store app when in full screen and when in an active frame, I would have to say its real, though I'm still not 100% sure, and I doubt we'd be able to instally android apps directly from it anyway.

So should Apple just abandon OS X as well since they allow Windows to be installed through Bootcamp?
That's not even a similar comparison. BlackBerries won't have the ability toi dual-boot into Android, they'll just have the ability to run Android proprietary software.

Change BootCamp to Parallels and it is pretty much the same thing.

It doesn't need to be photo shop, I could whip this up in a few minutes on my computer, create an app called whatever I want and have a picture of the play store in it.

Shoot man, I wish I knew. Personally, I'm hoping they are bringing it to the Storm as well. I'd love me some Google Play on that.

But who knows? I'm not an insider, I just found the pic while surfing the web. You know, just kinda ran into it randomly and decided to share it on CrackBerry. No reason to be suspicious about that at all.

Whoever owns that slimy Bold is awfully lucky though.

In the 3rd pic it looks like the movie icons extend under the bezel, you can see the white spacing between them and the 2 in grown ups.

    Could be an optical illusion.

Nah. Easy peasy. The trick is that the grease, grime, and fingerprints aren't actually photoshopped. Take a pic of an actual greasy, grimy, fingerprint laden phone. Chop in the fake app, duplicate the original image onto a new layer, then blend that duplicate/new layer over the original layer and the chopped elements (some options here... masking, transparency, etc..).

Or you could just display a screenshot from an Android phone on the BlackBerry.

I do not know if it is real or not. But it can be easily faked by a designer or by a developer like me.

Just made a fast app for Z10 (1280x768), with an image I found on internet, I can add others too to simulate more pages.
Sideload it, get Play Store in your phone and have fun.

    Edit:
    My app has a plus:

You display the screenshot on the phone before taking a photo. Fingerprints and smudges will remain.
