What amazes me is that why didn't Blackberry just ask Google permissions for the PlayStore API, and utilize it to download an Android version of the app inside their Blackberry World (if they don't have a native app version for what ever app user wants to find). That way, they can totally make the reviews for the BB10 and Google Playstore separate. Come on, they can already redirect play store links into the BBW, why not go an extra mile? at least target the ones that are free first (if they worry about the dev revenue).

If this is real then BB can have a great push. The biggest problem for some people will be solved.

How? Handset sales have stalled, the carrier distribution networks collapsing and financially, BBRY still lacks the many billions required to compete in the handset marketplace - this will have zero impact on the future of BB10 - it will be of interest to hardcore fans who already own a device but nobody else.

To be fair, in every single review I've read about a bb10 device the first thing they mention, besides bbry going out of business, is the lack of apps. Hopefully, once the huge app catalog google play has comes, then they'll be able to actually focus on the phone's features.

I agree with you that just bringing over apps isn't enough. If they don't fire Boulben, and get some people with legitimate marketing sense working for them. Then they are doomed.

It could work, IF the integration is seamless. Otherwise, I agree with your assessment completely.

They might as well ditch BlackBerry 10 OS and turn to Android!
What a mindless move would that be if they let play store on BB10.

Every other new os seems to be doing this anyway(tizen, jolla). They will allow native apps for their os and also full android apps to fill out their ecosystem. That will help to sell phones for BlackBerry phones and once they sell enough phones devs will probably decide to create native apps anyway.

So should Apple just abandon OS X as well since they allow Windows to be installed through Bootcamp?

Of course not! If the Andoid apps sell no dev will even bother making it native. It's that simple.

That's not even a similar comparison. BlackBerries won't have the ability toi dual-boot into Android, they'll just have the ability to run Android proprietary software.

Which is the much better option between the 2 as dual booting sucks.

Making options available isn't bad just as Apple did allowing Windows on Macs.

Maybe.... Can you add grimy fingerprint marks and dust to make it authentic....

I give a 9.5 / 10 for photoshopping to match the fingerprints, dust, assorted goo, and reflections.

If this is photoshopped, someone put a lot of time and effort into this scam. The same can be said if someone created a dummy app just showing screen shots.

Either it's real, or somebody has waaaaay too much time on their hands!

I'm not confident BBRY sales would take off even if integration were seamless. I am skeptical that knowledgeable consumers would actually prefer BB10 over Android and BBRY's hardware is still not a good value proposition.

BB10 with Google Play is roughly equivalent to BBRY going Android in likeliness of success. Still much better chance than BB10 in its current state but not very likely overall.

It's only an app, wouldn't necessarily be that hard to sideload if you knew how to do it. Doesn't make it work or do anything though.

It wouldn't be hard to photoshop a screen shot of my Z10 doing things like switching from the hub, having multiple apps on the screen open etc, and editing them in photoshop, then putting the pictures back on my phone, opening them full screen, taking them a picture, and pumping smoke up everyone's anus.

Do I hope it's real? Very much so.

Do I think it's real? No.
