Wow...someone please explain to me what would happen to BlackBerry World if we had access to the Play Store?

    Would we have both?

More importantly, will all the Play Store apps work with the current crop of BB10 devices?

Subscribed, let's see the fight between the ones wooing for losing the app gap vs the ones complaining for malware coming to Blackberry.

I would like to see this coming, to have the best of two worlds would be great, but let's see to believe.
As I have over a number of friends with Androids and none have ever gotten malware.... I'm in the Bring It On category!

That's the whole point of malware is to stay undetected. They wouldn't even know it's installed.

totally agree, I also have an android tablet (well my wife) and at least have not detected any virus or malware, we are careful about what we download there, check the reviews and everything.

I wish my first thought when opening this thread was "Cool" but it was definitely "EEEEWWWWW"

My thought is, lemme show this with the messy screen, you can't make this stuff up. That's got to be the real deal buddy.

Now if you're good enough to PS that, then you deserve a pat on the back and a swift kick where the sun don't shine for fooling us so well!

Is the Play Store an application? Hmmm, if so and we downloaded an .apk and converted it a bar, couldn't we sideload it just as any other app.

Update: A quick google search rendered a bunch of links to Play Store .apk's.

Wouldn't be hard to get this running, even if it doesn't properly work long enough to do anything worth substance.

I love the idea, but ultimately this proves nothing. I'd like to see a video, opening the play store, finding, downloading and installing an app. Then I'll be sold.

Even if Google Play was installed as an app it doesn't mean that Android apps can be installed on a BB from the Google Play app.

This is incredibly easy to fake. All you have to do is take a screenshot from an android phone and create an app with the name called Play Store that displays that screenshot and load the bar file onto the phone. With 0 evidence of anything in action, this is no confirmation at all.
