Before I started on my Blackberry journey 18 years ago I had a Psion Revo PDA and LOVED it. The same crew are now making modern PDAs and a new communicator reminiscent of the Nokia in its day.

That thing looks identical to the Planet Gemini PDA (which is also in the video).

Anyway, glad someone out there (aside from BB) finally understands that a mobile communicator should have a PKB.

I started with a Nokia 2110 and a Psion. Nowadays a combination of a Punt.2 and a BlackBerry secured Planet Gemini would be the optimum!

The problem is that the market for PDAs in 2018-2019 is probably 10k units per year - and a PDA only has to accomplish a tiny fraction of what a modern smartphone is expected to do, which means that a PDA can be made for far less. Not only is the hardware lesser, but much more significantly, the software is several orders of magnitude simpler.

This is essentially a nostalgia play for a relatively tiny handful of people who have fond memories and are willing to pay to relive them. But I suspect that even most of the people who buy one of these will still end up doing most of their PDA work on their phone, because dual-carrying devices is a pain.

There is certainly nothing here to interest BB Ltd, or even TCL/BBMo.

I take your point about a (pure) PDA however the product I discussed is far more than a simple PDA. It's a full mini computer with phone and camera. Their super quick sell out on Indiegogo says there is a market.

They’ve sold less than 2,000 of them on Indiegogo, at under US$600. I imagine the demand for this is even lower at the full US$800 price.

Hardly setting the market on fire.

Agreed its not setting the world on fire, but I saw the designers over the moon as it oversubscribed in a matter of hours. Its just nice to see there are other options out there now instead of just Apple,Google and Samsung. Especially now that BB has virtually disappeared. You should see the looks on folk when they see the Passport!
