Sad, yes, but I can't say I'm surprised.

ESPN is apparently not as concerned with security as other companies need to be.

Crippling emails is what ESPN may be getting going to a less secure infrastructure.. ahh who knows.. maybe with all the hacking going on right now .. somehow ESPN will get missed..... ya think?

Does this refer to their internal use of BlackBerry devices or to their legacy app?

Edit: if an email went out to employees I'd assume it is regarding internal use. . .

When was the last time ESPN updated their app for BB10?
They don't care. ESPN == TMZ of sports.

It is sad. What is more sad is that chen probably doesn't care. Too "consumer" like for him.

I haven't seen a big app come to bb10 or updated in his presence . I've just been seeing blackberry world getting worse like the "App for... " apps.

    Core apps remain featureless.

I don't think he gets, consumer overlaps with enterprise.

He needs to pick it up.

CBS sports app is a good replacement. They haven't update for a while but at least it works. Not like the ESPN app.

I use to like score but right after that amazon announcement they went straight to android port from native.

The app was headless before too!!!

Now I just go on google to check scores..

Welpy McWelpington! ESPN app was a load of hog wash anyways.

If this refers to the use of BlackBerry devices within the company, then I'm concerned, but at this point I don't care. BlackBerry is still alive. The "end" isn't in sight for me. Give me my passport!

ESPN as a company is not going to support BlackBerry devices internally.

ESPN as a company has not supported BB10, so I think was most likely part of a long term plan. I bet they, like most companies that have been BlackBerry customers - have been watching this transition very carefully, and have been looking at the options. Time has not been on BlackBerry's side.

Just hope this is just an internal move by ESPN only, and not a part of an overall Disney Company move away from BlackBerry.

Lol. It's to true. I really don't understand the entertainment of watching sports. I find most "fans" seem/ act mentally ill. People jumping up and down because a ball goes in a hoop, net or whatever. It's a great business for the owners who must laugh all day. I wish some sports teams were publicly traded companies so I could profit and care about sports.

Some people appreciate the "skills" that other have...

Many of the owners do enjoy the money that people are will to pay.... but most of them are also HUGE Fans and really enjoy being involved in the "game". Do think Jim Balsillie tried so hard to buy a Hockey Team because he taught it would make him a lot of money?

Can u imagine a world without sports? Whether playing or watching? It's not just an American pastime, it's a word wide pastime.

Even if BlackBerry was doing amazingly they will still sometimes lose customers. It's the nature of business. They've picked up some too in recent times. It's the overall ledger that matters.
