Has to be the Pearl flip... a Curve flip wouldn't make any sense.

And its not RIM working on a release. It the carriers. The pearl flip 8230 has already been released by RIM. Currently Telus and Bell are already carrying the 8230 in Canada.

8220 for Rogers. And no way it's a 'curve flip'. I'm under the impression the pearl flip was a disaster..

Obviously YMMV, but I'd hardly call the flip a "disaster". My Flip works near flawlessly both as a BlackBerry and as a flip phone. I never cared for the traditional "BlackBerry" look and wouldn't have bought one. I was ecstatic when BlackBerry came out with the Pearl Flip.

A curve flip. Sounds too similar to the Pearl flip. I wouldn't go for it!

I would love to see a Curve slider with a similar form factor to the Palm Pre, that would be the perfect phone to me.

I agree raskal. The Curve is a great phone. I wouldn't wanna see a flip version of it though.

Curve flip? There wouldn't be any curves left on the device..they would have to name it the "fold" then.

Please...no more flips - leave that to the razrs, krazers, blazers and all the other 'zers

Interesting! I don't hate the Lotus, but I'im not sure I'd love it. Definitely can't go there from my BB though.

I am thinking "no." That would be too weird. NO RIM, NO.

Not a suggestion to switch to the Lotus. Just that a BB Curve Flip might look like a Lotus.

I am still not feeling the "Flip" concept for BBs; I know why RIM did it I suppose. However, I will never be a fan of that.

RIM made the flip to make money. After all, that's why they started making bb's in the first place. The pearl did fairly well in the mainstream market. RIM like any good company is constantly screening new ideas. If they think they can maike a profit off the idea, good for them. The great thing about a free-market economy is that consumers as a whole decide if a product survives or not. Personally I was hoping my carrier was going to get the 8230 but no dice.
