is it BB10 or legacy phone...?

from my experience when travel to China only BB legacy phone allow you to bypass their firewall and connect to facebook, twitter etc...

with some catch because there is no china carriers support BIS Plan you need to register it outside of china.

update : from pic i see some legacy and some BB10 phone

I've talked to a friend of mine in customs, the story is true and a very famous online blackberry store is closed recently.

    fyi:
the official blackberry store is not very popluar here, the models are old and expansive, you won't believe if I tell you the 9900 is about $750 here.
most blackberry devices in China are smuggled from other countries.

Hmm ... so will I be able to get one of these at Pacific Mall in Toronto? Or can I get someone to go to the Police Auction in China to get a few for me.

But seriously, are they confiscated because they are counterfeit? Or because they didn't declare it? Wouldn't the latter just be a fine?

I travel to China for biz all the time and my 9900 works perfectly when in China as a roaming device though. The beauty of using a roaming handset in China is you are not subject to the Great Firewall. I switch on hot spot at 9900 and do all googling, tweeting, youtubing, yahooing with my notebook and Z10 without any problem. So much so that I stopped using hotel broadband which is known to record your online history and more.

Pictured are Z10 boxes AND open legacy devices. There also appears to be either a Dev C or possibly a 9981.
