    Qualcom is just trying to protect it is interest, it makes about 6 percent of BlackBerry. So few millions of investment is just protecting it's future

    Qualcomm used to make handsets. Then it hit it big with CDMA essential patents, low power ARM processors and SOC solutions.

    With move to LTE their patent strong hold is waning.

    Samsung-Apple don't need their processors. And can drop Qualcomm from Radio solutions.

    SOC solutions have fierce competition from mediaTek and the likes. Low cost solutions are comoditized and is challenging to make money.


    With QCOM investment Android on BlackBerry seems inevitable. Android and Bb10 might coexist.
