Looks like BlackBerry's secure android os is coming to other manufacturers. This is exciting as it opens up the possibility of being able to buy a high end smartphone with carrier support, running BlackBerry's Android.

    Don't get your hopes up.....

Enterprise is really the only customer I can see this being of interest too. That's a small niche that I'm not sure TCL will be able to make any money on. Throw a MOTO or Huawei that is powered by this solution and it will kill TCL chances.

Most of what I've read about what BlackBerry does and comparing it to some of the features that Quaclcomm (KEYS) have built into the chips and optional security features (Kernel Hardening and Security Checks ) that all OEM have when installing Android.... not sure how much is really there to market. They don't do those things, because it limits the users.

BlackBerry may start licensing its Android ROM, called 'BlackBerry Secure'

If I am an android manufacturer, can I believe in this android version or straight go to AOSP? You know, blackberry promised day one security update, but blackberry lied about this. DTEK devices are the victim not getting day one update like pixel or nexus from google. Even no nougat for dtek 60.

Says nothing about a zero day commitment.

The actual commitment is to "timely security updates".

My Priv, KEYᵒⁿᵉ, and DTEK50 are all on August patch (for 10 days now).

DTEKs are in transition to TCL, so we seem to have some issues with the DTEK60.

My PRIV and my 50 have the most recent update. The 60 is lagging same as Conite.
