    Totally agree.

Plastic on top and bottom look like 1st and 2nd gen Motorola Droids - and those look so ugly and cheap.
That was my first reaction too, but then I noticed the picture is grainy so that appearance might just have to do with the graininess of the picture. So it's difficult to judge the material on this picture. I'm hoping it's like the back of the PlayBook. That'd be the best IMO.

How do you know this is the final version? Till than your point is mute. Want an ugly phone get an iphone 5.
I'm not sure if your post was in reference to my previous post but I'm gonna respond anyway. I'm not saying this is the final version. All I'm saying is I hope it's not because it is ugly and it looks really cheap. I want something like the renders that Digitalhomeboy did. Something like this http://www.digitalhomeboy.ca/?page_id=3510 or this http://www.digitalhomeboy.ca/?page_id=1773. Just sayin'.

Is it just me? I find this phone ugly and cheap looking. I don't like the plastic at the top and bottom.
While I don't find the phone all that attractive don't think it is "ugly". I must say that I am glad they did something with the design of the phone so Apple, Samsung, or Nokia can't say BB copied the their phones "trade dress". It would be crappy if the phone gets banned before it even makes it to market. With a warm reception for the new BB10 devices I am sure the designs will improve. At the moment I just want a new BB10 device and if it is homely looking I won't mind too much .

That is one ugly device, way too many borders around screens too many angles and not very aesthetically appealing. I love rim and use the 9900 all the time but if that is the touch screen device they are going tk be selling it is disgusting.

I was thinking this too. Remember the -ugly initial leaked pics of the BB Style...Hated it after the first ones surfaced but the final product was much more attractive(although still kind of uggers). I hope this is the case here too.

It's plastic rubberized (same as playbook and dakota), and plastic, like dakota, bellagio, monza, monaco has, for the backdoor casing.

Btw, this is close to final, but not the Commercial Unit one. This is an Engineering Unit.

I believe that's the inside of the back cover.
I can confirm that the back cover has a textured back. I saw the phone with a friend who has one.

I am sorry but none of these look like a BlackBerry. I understand that they need to change but why change the one thing that they had going for them. A design that is BlackBerry, where you can tell a BlackBerry from afar. It doesn't have to be the exact design but they need to keep some of the design DNA that they will able to keep the brand recognition. I think that even the software is great but if it looks like an Android, I think it will appear as if no one is using their phones.

I honestly think that these pictures are just the devices given to carriers to test on their network and they are trying to keep a lid on the design. If you saw what happened to the iPhone 5 where we knew almost everything that changed, the launch was kinda meh. RIM cannot afford a meh launch.

Anybody find it strange, how all we ever see of this device is a direct front on view. I have yet to see the sides or the back except for the sweet rendered video that was around! Makes me think That RIM has athorized these pictures as they are only somewhat reveling?
Of course I still love what I see!!
Not really...If you were going to post one and only one picture of yourself that would show someone who you were, would you post a picture of your feet? Or your back? Or a picture of your face?
It just makes sense that you post a picture of your face.

I'm surprised that, with BB10 phones being in lab entry testing, we haven't seen a gazillion leaks already. Idk, early days yet?

Are you kidding, very PlayBook-esque; you can see the touch sensitive bezel inside the outer frame of the phone. Also screen looking to be 16:9 AR.

I'm sure there's some serious legal s@#t that restricts it. I kind of like the suspense.

I REALLY hope the Nevada doesn't look like that. To me that looks terribly unfinished and yes, I'll say the word....I find it ugly.

With the L-series being gesture based and all, I wonder what type/form of casing for this phone will be available...and how it may affect the gesture function of the phone if any. As of now, I haven't clearly seen the size of the space around the screen yet.
