Fair enough but by the same token some of those (not you particularly) who still have skin in the game (I got out at a while back) are looking at this from a somewhat emotional perspective. There is nothing wrong with that but both perspectives, the emotional and the analytic, are equally valid.
Absolutely spot on. I was semi-emotionally involved. I convinced myself that RIMM/BBRY would make it work THIS time. It took me a while to just say no to the stock.

Sweet fancy moses, are people really using book value as an indicator of a company's worth????

Here's something, AAPL's book value is about $135 a share and GOOG's book value is around $236.. Good luck trying to get some of either for those prices.

Again, those of you who comment that are not shareholders, remind yourselves that you have NO skin in the game and that your perspectives would be very different if you did........
Yep. Objectivity goes out the window when you are financially invested.

Pete has the day off today. Jane is working inside today. Both hear a credible weather report predicting rain. Pete is less likely to believe it... "Surely, it won't rain on my one day off!". Jane has no personal investment in a sunny day today and is more likely to evaluate the weather report against past accuracy, rather than the impact of rain on her day.

Make it work and turn things around...and stay a viable public company. They are so desperate now and killing the BlackBerry brand while kicking shareholders in the teeth.

If you love BlackBerry then you should support the buyout, almost any other deal will probably see the company as we know it dissolved for parts, if you want more money, then reject the plan, but this is why I don't bet on sports or invest in stocks, because you have to choose between what you like and what makes more money
