vibrate first ... THEN ring ???
- My phone is set to "loud" .... but the phone always quietly vibrates first for the first couple of rings before it starts to actually "ring".
I have missed many calls because by the time I hear it, and then answer ... they have hung up.
1. Is their a setting to make it immediately ring ???
2. What is the quickest way to switch it from audible ring to vibrate when desired ??? (I came from a BlackJack and their was a keyboard button for immediate toggleing between vibrate & audible.)
3. My preference is actually for it to do BOTH, vibrate AND audible ring at the same time; (but again, with NO DELAY audible) ???
4. Also, even though set on loud, it does not seem as loud as on my BlackJack .... any suggestions ???

THANKS08-31-08 05:11 AMLike 0 - So what you are telling me is that the BB inherently offers no other options, without additional downloads ???
The price is cheap enough, so that is not really a problem ....
BUT ... After all I have heard about the "greatness" of BB, I do find it a surprise there are fewer options than I had with the BlackJack.
I lost my BlackJack and decided to try a BB (for 30 days) to decide to either keep it or go back to the BJ (I can go from BJ1 to BJ2). Note: Or go to the BOLD, which is probably my plan.
There are many things I like better on the BB so far, but I very definitely miss all the extra buttons on the BJ. As I mentioned on a couple of other posts, there is immediate (one button) access to contacts (address book), and favorites when in browser. (And many, many other functions since two of the buttons are "soft" and thus serve different functions in different applications.
Speaking of the BOLD, there appears to be a lot of "available" space on the keyboard that BB could have added more buttons, to match the versatility of the BJ. Most notably, the Menu and Back button appear to be much, much larger than necessary .... BB could easily have made two buttons (upper and lower) in the area, and also easily have added more buttons along the bottom. (More buttons mean more "instant" access options.)
But I guess we have to take the good with the bad.
Thanks for the info. I am sure I will be asking a lot more questions.Last edited by joephoto5; 08-31-08 at 05:52 AM. Reason: spelling
08-31-08 05:44 AMLike 0 - Goto Profiles/Advanced/select the profile you want to edit, then select phone, select TONE. This will make the phone ring without any vibe. Hope this helps.08-31-08 05:45 AMLike 0
- Another thing you can do is call your carrier and have them set the amount of time, or rings, before your voice mail picks up, to the maximum allowed. The default time is too short. By doing that, at least you have more rings to answer before you miss the call. Worked for me....08-31-08 08:35 AMLike 0
