    Greetings and Salutations all!
I have had a bb 8 or 9 months now, but just discoved crackberry.com in the last couple of weeks! It is so freakin' cool. I mean I could not even figure out how to get a ringtone till crackberry! Now, I gotta be careful because I will fill it up if I am not careful!

I have an 8703e on the US Cellular network. At the time I purchased it was the highest model they had. I really like it but now I am wishing I could store songs and video on it. Reckon I will have to wait untill I can change phones. Which brings me to my question....

What does having an unlocked bb mean exactly? If I decide to buy a bb from someone other than USCellular, then I need a CDMA that is unlocked correct?

"Unlocked" is for GSM phones only. GSM phones are sim locked to use only sims from the carrier that is branded on the device. Unlocking simply removes that restriction of only being able to use the same carrier's sim card.

CDMA is an entire different story.
