Service Book Help
I have gone into my applications through advanced options and removed applications which I will never use. I would also like to remove icons from the main screen of my Blackberry as these programs I will never use and I would prefer not seeing an unused icon. I am aware I can highlight the icon and hide it through my applications menu but I would like to remove it completely.
The only way I see doing this is through the "service books". The icons I wish to remove are as follows:
Downloads
Facebook
Browser (since I'll be replacing with Opera Mini)
Yahoo Messenger
BlackBerry HELP! (crackberry.com is 10X more useful)
Google Talk
Download GPS Nav
Download Windows Live Messenger
Any help on which service books to delete would be awesome. It seems there are more service book entries than there are programs/icons so I'm confused on whether some programs have multiple service book entries.
There are also items such as IPPP for BIBS, TeleNav Virtual Preload and many other service book entries which relate to windows live and blackberry browser and I'm unsure what these are and if I can remove them.
Last question... When I create an email account and configure to work with my Blackberry, in the service books, it shows two entries for each single email with the CID's being different: CICAL and CMIME
Do I require both or can I remove one of them?
Thank you for all the help!

Keep the browser for sure. You cannot do downloads with opera.
That is all I have to say as I would be wary of removing service books.
Someone with more experience can advise you on the others.

Thanks for your help!
The service books are specific to each carrier and I know for some, if they delete the service books, they will be downloaded once the device reboots.
With Bell, this will not happen unless you request the service books through your user account on their website.
This will allow me to customize my Blackberry for my personal use. I am going to install Desktop Manager and Device Manager to see if I can do it through the Application Loader somehow.

Not sure which ones to remove, but you do need both cicl and mime books for e-mail to work. Sorry couldn't help any further. Good luck with your inquiry.

Awesome! Thanks for all the help :) As for service books, I realized I can push in on the trackball and I get a description for each. I was able to walk myself through it and have it customized to my liking. The downfall is the browser is part of the core components which cannot be removed through DM. This is horrible because you are forced to leave the browser on or alternatively, hide it and download a browser of your choice. Things are much better now so I'm happy.

Well, this was short lived. You can configure your service books but if you turn your BB off for an undisclosed amount of time and then back on again, it will download everything again :) LOL! I am fine with the providers "service books" and will just download additional applications which I require. I should not worry too much but instead, spend the cashola and get a memory card.
Everyones input was appreciated. Thanks!
