what exactly is a ringback tone?
Ringback Tones are replacement for the sound people hear when they call you until you answer the call or voice mail picks up. Not all service providers offer this service. People choose music, or funny sound clips for ringback tones. Others prefer to stick with the traditional ring or beep sound.
well it's a carrier specific service, so you will have to contact your carrier.
Is there a way to use one of your ringtones as a ringback file if your carrier supports it?
Man, I hate ringback tones. The person that uses them thinks it's a cool idea, because he's not on the receiving end of the nightmare. It forces the caller to listen to loud (and I mean loud) music that he may or may not enjoy. My father-in-law accidentally downloaded a Verizon ringback tone: if I have to hear "Please enjoy the music while your party is reached" one more time I'm going to scream, lol.
