I have a BB curve 8310 using Desktop manager 4.5.0.15 when I hook up my BB to do a OS upgrade after loading the OS it does not prompt me for a upgrade on some phones it worked on mine but not on 2 other phones I tried. Any ideas on what the problem might be.
I have tried loading the app loader and deleting the vendor file when I plug my my phone it shows that I still have version 4.2 software on it but I have version 4.5 loaded because I have the video camera and the new theme. I also have the software for the 8310 I have double checked everything that has been mentioned.
Ok so I have tried a different BB 8310 with the same computer using 4.6 and 4.7 to do the upgrade and still nothing showing up. And after I did the upgrade on mine the only thing that I am getting under my apps loader is the games that I have installed nothing else is in there what have I done wrong please help
C:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader ?
If it is Vendor.xml, as I suspect, delete it, again. It is created fresh each time you install the device OS. That is the most likley reason it does not recognize the upgrade.
I have uninstalled desktop manager and all the OS's that I had installed on my computer reinstalled version 4.5, then tried to do a OS upgrade after I deleted the vendor.xml file then tried desktop manger 4.6 and 4.7 with same results. checking for vendor.xml each time. I also tried the loader program under c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader with it coming up that it needs to downgrade to version 4.2. I'm fixing to reload my freaking OS on my computer to clear my registry start everything fresh and try again this is getting annoying.
CrackMem you choose the delete Vendor.xml in the process.
Procedure for upgrades is:
1. Uninstall the older version from the PC
2. Install the newer OS to the PC.
3. Change the theme on the device to carrier default.
4. Run CrackMem, make desired changes
5. Close CrackMem.
6. Run Desktop Manager.
7. Plug in BB
8. When prompted to upgrade, click OK
9. Choose "Advanced", so individual OS changes can be made.
10. Begin
