Potential PlayBook Owner :)

Hello Crackberry! I'm currently the owner of a Palm Pre Plus and an iPad 1, as you can tell from my avatar, I'm platform agnostic, as long as the device serves my needs I'm happy. I've owned and used every mobile OS except for BB but the Playbook has really caught my eye with its QNX based BB Tablet OS and its 7" slick form factor! I find my iPad to be too big for what I use it for, i.e. casual web browsing, reading ebooks and email. I think the 7" form factor is perfect for one handed reading and browsing, and the PB seems to have an awesome web browser and enough horsepower to run smoothly. Obviously as a WebOS user, I enjoy the PB's interface ;)

I'm looking forward to the 3G UK Playbook along with the software updates that enable native email and pim as I don't own a BB for Bridge, as well as all the exciting new things being announced this week at BB World and future TAT enhancements!

Hi i_maq! Welcome, you got the right spirit for this place! I agree with you in this the PB will be a great device for you! Either waiting for the one with built in 3G/4G, OR using Internet Tethering, as the device will tether nicely with ANY smartphone not just a BB. True you don't get the bridge, and some carrier charge extra for tethering (I pay 20 per month extra), it's MUCH faster, and more robust, than the bridge.

Ha thanks guys! Bribing you with cookies is a bad idea cos I'll eat them all before I can get them to you O_o I guess tethering would be an option but the battery life on my Pre+ ain't all that :o I tethered to my iPad once for an hour (which is 3G but wasn't getting any signal) and it used up 70% of my Pre's battery :eek: So I'd prefer a 3G PB (there's no 4G in the UK yet, only 3.5). I've read the PB has great battery life so that would be another plus!
