    Welcome to crackberry!

yes you can use it as a wireless card to get internet on your laptop or what not however, most carriers charge money for that service. I've heard of a program called Teetherberry you could try I hear it is supposed to bypass the teethering charges but I'm not sure how that all works as I haven't tried it myself.

I read on here that someone told this person to use tetherberry and at the end of the month she had racked up over three thousand dollars on her bill. so I'd assume no, it is not free.
